Alison
This is a great story, the first in the Girls' FC series. It's the story of how Megan Fawcett and her friends set up a girls' Under 9s football team. It is very much setting up the characters and relationships for the rest of the series, hinting at the story arcs for each character, but it is still an enjoyable read in its own right. It would be a great read for independent or guided reading for 7+- short chapters and a good pace for children who are ready for a sustained read.
