An Invitation to Sin (Griffin Family #2)
Seven marriageable daughters . . . And Lord Zachary Griffin is just the man to help them.
After all, what could be more tantalizing than teaching the beautiful Witfeld sisters all the special ways of driving a man into submission--and marriage? And leading exquisite Caroline Witfeld, the most spirited and least frivolous sister, to temptation would be wildly delicious.

If you like your romance with a painting back drop this is a cute one. There are some very “fun” and unexpected scenes at one point with the said ‘paint’ ;-) A good story on the whole with strong characters and good writing.
It doesn’t quite make 5 stars because the sexual tension becomes frustrating –the h/h aren’t together enough or they’re apart for long stretches and there are always other people taking up their time with useless things. I’m all for lots of tension with additio...more

I enjoyed An Invitation to Sin, and I think it is a nice compliment to Sin and Sensibility.
Caroline is the eldest of seven daughters to a farmer in England. She is also aspiring artist. Her dream is not to marry and bear children like her sisters, but to be accepted to a fine art school that will recognize her talents. Since this is definitely out of the ordinary for women to not want to marry, she is often chided by her family and others in town. She learns that she needs to paint...more

I was introduced to the Griffin Family in the first book of this series Sin and Sensibility. In their family you have Sebastion the Duke of Melbourne and the oldest son of the family; Charlemagne (Shay) who is the second oldest son; Zachary the third son and Eleanor the Marchioness of Deverill and youngest child and only daughter whose story we read about in the first book. This is Zachary Griffin's story.

So this book was almost a five star book however Caroline was really getting on my nerves towards the end of the book. But I stilled loved the book. I really like the Griffin family! I thought the end was fitting a little sudden but they are in the next book so I didn't mind so much. I loved how Caroline reacted the first time she saw Zachary with his shirt off! How she was trying to act all composed but she wasn't. I also loved all of her sisters and how they all acted with Zachary and then whe...more
This book reminds me of one of my favorite books, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. The hero, Zachery is an immature, aimless gentleman. Caro, on the other hand, has only one thing in mind: becoming a painter. There is no room for marriage in her plans. Throw in some a half dozen sisters, a cow, lots of paint and you got 'An Invitation to Sin'.
The biggest feature of this book is the maturation of the hero. I know alot of people don't like reading about it in this genre, but I love the he...more

Zachary Griffin is a man of many talent he just doesn't seem to stick to one imparticular, until his Aunt drags him to a house filled with seven unmarried daughters. Six of which want to marry but the seventh one has caught his interest.

The Griffin family chronicles were the first of Enoch's book I read. Sebastian, Charlemagne, Zachary, and Eleanor, all are fabulous characters. Zach wants a military commission, but Sebastian, the head of the household, refuses. Instead, Zach is to accompany their Aunt Tremaine to Bath for her gout. They stop to visit with Aunt T's friend, Mrs. Witfield. The Witfields have seven daughters. The oldest is Caroline. She is an artist, and she asks Zach to sit for her. She needs a portrait of someone...more

Caroline's single-mindedness made the development of an all-consuming love story pretty unbelievable. I saw Zachary's character progression a lot more clearly. Indeed, the whole book was about how Zachary developed into a responsible adult, whereas Caro's big transformative "hey, maybe painting isn't the end-all" moment happened offscreen in one of those "some time later" bits. Also, the Big Moment when she decided to sleep with him instead of argue with him also zoomed past ...more
Second in the Griffin series, this is youngest brother Zachary's love story. While acting as traveling companion to his Aunt, Zachary attends a house party and meets Caroline, a gifted portraitist and 1 of 7 sisters. Their love story is quirky and charming and the supporting characters including Caroline's large family are amusing. I like that Enoch created a spunky and talented Regency female in Caroline who wanted a career above all else.
ohh How do I love historical romance books let me count the ways I really liked An invitaion to sin learning the story of another Griffin made me *sigh* Zachary Griffin is one of the cutest character of the Griffin clan he was so intriuged by Caroline gazes but came to find out that her gazes had nothing to do with her attraction and more to the fact that she like to paint and wished to paint him... I loved how these two tried to not submit to one another only to end of failing book 2 of the Gr...more
The hero wants to join the army, but his brother is determined to stop him. Hero needs to find something to do with his life, but hasn't yet, despite all his dabbling. Brother sends him to take aunt to Bath, but she stops off on the way to visit an old friend--one with seven daughters, most of them of marriageable age. The oldest however would rather paint him than marry him. She needs to submit a portrait of an aristocrat to get entry into a studio, and she's already painted the locals dozens o...more
This book had some really good moments and then some extra stuff that dragged on too long. When the story was about the two main characters it was good but dealing with all her stupid sisters and talking about cows was a little long winded. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either.
The Griffon Family sage is a must read. This book is my fav out of the two i have read so far. The story between Zach and Caroline is romantic and they are so suited for each other. The journey you take with them in finding in true love is a delight.
My favorite parts of this book happened while Zachary posed for Caroline. I did find Caroline annoying at times when she was too focused on painting instead of the handsome Zachary.
I liked this book, wish there was more interaction between H&h though. They did have some good sexual chemistry, but there was so much family involved. The herione, Caroline, seems to have tunnel vision when it came to her goal and she got a bit on my nerves in this fact. I liked that Zachary had a temper and was willing to let it show, but a time or two he came off a bit childish. That being said I think that's how is character was supposed to appear being the 3rd son and youngest, he was sick ...more
Very funny and very entertaining to read. Although I read series not in order, still, I managed to follow the timeline just fine.
Liked the hero...heroine was a little bit set in her ways, but over all a very good read. Even got a few tears from me...lol
So funny and so ...well I thought it was great. And I just have to say "I got to go Julia, we have cows!"
Zach was very sweet. I really liked this book mainly because he was such a believable character.
I loved the scene where they paint each other.
Zachary Griffin & Caroline Witfield
I came to Suzanne Enoch through her contemporary series with Sam Jellicoe the kick-ass cat burglar, and was kinda hoping that her historicals would be as awesome.
This book was EXTRAORDINARILY slow-paced. Argh. Well written, but it dragged. I ended up skipping a good 40 pages, which isn't something that I normally do with romance novels (or any other book for that matter).
I will probably try another of her historicals, but I'm not holding out high hopes.

Sweet happy romp of a romance between 2 likable characters, Sara and Zachery.
I loved this single-minded, direct & driven heroine, her aimless, amiable hero & how they improved together

Suzanne was born in Southern California. She has wanted to write practically since she learned to read. Early dreams of becoming a zoologist and writing books about her adventures in Africa were crushed after she viewed a National Geographic special on the world's most poisonous snakes -- of which 99% seemed to be native to Africa. After that, and in conjunction with her first viewing of the movie...more
