Guess I'm only reading this because I haven't got anything else. The lead character and the plot are just lacking for me. The romantic interest bores me but I've read worse. Nyx seems too young and naive for her job and her whole life experiences just don't gel.
If Drow don't come to earth how did her mother meet her father. If her society really is so repressive towards females how do they tolerate a human, non-submissive Queen or a half breed princess. I know it's only paranormal fantasy but it

I liked this book better than the first book in the series, although that's not saying much.

The Good: The characters were less cardboard cut-outs and more developed. The ubiquitous name-brand-dropping that was so irritating in the first book is also, thankfully, gone.

The Bad: The book was fairly predictable. Also - and the big stumbling block for me - was that the villain(s) did one incredibly inept and stupid thing that allowed the good guys to find them. The good guys finding them happened fai

♥ Ashleigh ♥ contrary to popular belief i'm not actually mad!
i still think this series would be much more interesting if Olivia was the main character instead of Nyx. Nyx drives me nuts with her stupid actions and acting like a 13yr old girl over adam.
i loved the new characters in this book - angel was awesome.
i love Olivia's shirts, like always - I find them highly very amusing.

not sure if i'll read the next book but i'll put it on my reading list just in case.

I enjoyed this book. It's a nice piece of paranormal fluff.

I didn't read the first book so I was slightly confused over some stuff that may have happened in the first book but I'm not entirely sure.

The book made me DESPISE the people I wasn't suppose to like. Which is different for me. And good. Because usually I'm on the "meh" side of the fence when it comes to villains especially in paranormal types of books.Though mostly it's because I DESPISE people who are like them in real life too. So s

I felt like I was in a car wreck while reading this story. It jumped around so much between characters and events that I never got involved with any of them. I found I did not care about one character in the book. I was relieved to finish it, knowing I'd never have to read it again. Not for me at all.

Spectacular! Half human, half dark elf, Nyx Ciar is human by day while she is a paranormal investigator and a blue-haired, purple-skinned elf by night where she works as a Night Tracker. In this installment, she gets a client through her PI agency and the case transfers to the Night Trackers. Alpha werewolf Dimitri Beketov brings the case of his missing and/or murdered weres to her attention and Nyx brings the information to Rodan, her Night Tracker boss who gets a whole team together to investi ...more

I don't know what it is about this series that clicks with me. On the surface it's a typical tough chick solving crimes and hunting down bad guys. The main character has an attitude, kicks butt, and looks good. That isn't enough for me. If it was, every urban fantasy out there would get four stars. It's not necessarily the characters either, because the banter between the main character, Nyx, and her friend Olivia is a bit annoying, and Nyx isn't that multidimensional. That leaves the plot. We a ...more

This is one of those series that flies under the radar and I don't think it gets as much attention as it should. This is the second book in the Night Tracker series.

Night Trackers are those paranormals who police all the paranormals. They hunt down the rogues and keep order in the paranormal world. Nyx is half drow, half human. Which means she is part dark elf and she turns amethysist with blue hair and gains her elemental magic at night. So Nyx is in her PI office when an alpha werewolf comes i

Cheyenne McCray's No Werewolves Allowed pretty much picks up where Demons Not Included ended, where Nyx is about to take on a case from the Werewolf alpha to help him find missing members of his pack. One a pregnant woman and two young children. After a rocky start, Nyx is determined to find them, but as her boss tells her, she can't do this alone and brings in help, help that she isn't too thrilled about.

In come the newbies, new characters that is that are paranorms. Including a Shadow Shifter,

This the second book in the Night Tracker series, was full of action, romance, and frightening situations filled with cruelty and torture.
I really enjoyed the plot for this book and how we are learning more about the paranorms with ever passing novel. Nyx is still the main focus of this book and I was fine with that I like her characters no nonsense attitude and kick ass solutions to her problems. We find out in this book if she is able to fix how her relationship with Adam ended in the first bo

Nyx is back and she's better than before. We've got some new Trackers, blooming love, and a whole new type of baddie that's gonna rock the paranorm world...For Nyx, it's all in a day's work.

Nyx is the half-human, half-Dark Elf princess who lives in New York City. By day, she's in human form and works as a paranormal private investigator. By night, she's in her Dark Elf form and is a Tracker, a paranorm who protects the world from other paranorms that

Heh. Just like that everything is ok? Hummm. Ok I guess. (You'll understand if you've read past chapter 5)

Anyway, I like the book and how the characters are developing. It's frustrating that Nyx isn't as badass as the 1st book made her seem. I guess her vulnerability adds to the "Realness" of the story. I like Angel here. She seems pretty badass for me. For some reason she surpassed Nyx's "badassness". Ice is also an interesting character. :) And the Shadow shifter seems really interesting. ;) I

The second Night Tracker Novel follows Nyx, Olivia and friends into the realm of the Weres. Someone is kidnapping them and their kits. They ones they find are dead, horribly dead. With two humans, several Shifters and a Doppler or two, Nyx goes of to figure it out. But will she have enough stamina to return?

These are very dangerous foes and it takes all she can figure out to try to stop them.

Proving the reason I always give a series two books, No Werewolves Allowed really surprised me. The annoying designer clothing name dropping was gone. The characters were more interesting and the plot line was definitely better.

Nyx didn't focus so much on the "I'm a Princess" thing as she did in the first book, which annoyed me almost as much as the designer crap, she actually did her job as a Night Tracker. Even the secondary characters were painted in full vibrant color in this one and didn't

Nyx Ciar is back with her PI partner, Olivia DeSantos. This time they are tracking who is abducting and killing members of a local Were pack. The pack is headed by completely alpha, Dmitri Beketov, whose son has been kidnapped as well. Rodan adds new trackers, Angel and Joshua to the mix, along with Ice, a veteran tracker. And let's not forget Nyx's hot, NYC detective/lover, Adam. Yes, the do get back together! The story was just okay. Don't get me wrong, I am totally loving this series. However ...more

c2010. OK - so this was so bad that I am not even going to do the normal FWFTB. Effectively, I skimmed through this book until the end. Truly awful so unable to recommend to the normal crew. "I couldn't. I had to remain conscious. Who else was there to help us get out of here."

Nyx Ciar, drow and centerpiece of this paranormal PI/action series loves her break from life as a Princess of the Dark Elves and the finer things of life, comes to grips with her relationship with human detective Adam Boyd, helps unravel a plot regarding the mysterious disappearance of Were’s in the area within a tight deadline and shows off her skills as a leader and a warrior this time out.

I thought the villain was sufficiently diabolical with vile enough henchmen and the

I was surprised at how fast I read this book. It wasn't what I was expecting.
I always enjoy Cheyenne McCray's writing and this one was no different. Nyx is a very strong character and I liked the interactions between all the main characters. It was kinda a twist on the normal stories that I have been reading lately with the main bad guys wanting to get rid of the paranorms on the planet. It moved along really fast, you weren't bored, I think if I had one complaint was that it almost moved to fas

Loved this book. I was really happy that Nyx and Adam got back together. And she proved to her Dad that she is even more special. Racism is horrible no matter who it is directed at. I like that the author addressed that in this book with a different twist.

Another great addition to this series! Nyx is back on the job in this one, this time helping werewolf Dmitri Beketov after members of his pack and family are being kidnapped and killed. You gotta like a human that can't keep her wise assed comments to herself in a room filled with beasties that can go burp in the night, right after they've eatten you. Really liked this one. The make-up between Adam and Nyx was great. Who doesn't love themselves a little human cop? :) Really liked the storyline and the action. Having Nyx get caught and hurt by her captors certainly made the story more intense. But she's a Drow and can heal which is reassuring. I like the cast of characters, especially the new Trackers. Definitely want to see more of them in the future.

It was an interesting read. it was nice to see that the bad guy wasn't what the title was meaning warewolves was not allowed didn't mean but the bad guy was the werewolves it was nice to be able to see nyx in a position where she wasn't the one who had to sacrifice the most but she ended having to fight harder then most of the characters. she ended up being saved by the people who cared for her. it was a fun read
