This second book has confirmed my opinion on the writer and series.La Newport has a way of writing hot and slow and gentle that makes taste every single page. The plot is the sum of many small wonderful stories. Evocative of the world after death where the Reaperinc inc. work and The Grim Reaper is nice and charming, as her assistant Brigit, strong, courageous, faithful and lovely.Character and environments are treated in a realistic way and it seems to smell coffe who Brigit drinks or Belinda w

Brigit Malone is carrying out her position of Assistant Grim Reaper efficiently and to the very best of her ability. The threat made by Seamus Flannery nine months previously has not been carried out........Yet. Brigit is under no illusions though, that he is just biding his time to get to her in a weak moment.
