this was one of the best translations of sun tzu's classic. For a book on the art of war its the interpretations that are important.
the detractors of sun tzu say that its justa bunch of maxims. that is the key to the book. that is its strong suit
the reader immediately orientates the maxims to his own reference points. minford adds extra interpretations
he goes that extra distance to make it a must have.
