I did not even notice until finished that the book blurb for this book was actually the back cover blurb for Witchcraft, that is one of the things I learned. (Means am not very observant I guess)
Luna Wilder has outdone herself in this story, she manages to somehow come out alive again despite all the odds against her! I truly believe at this point that if it were up to me, I think she would be a goner in the first few pages. I have somehow lost most of my earlier empathy for the character, read...more

I have been a fan of this series since the start. I really LOVED the last book; I liked the growth and maturity in the character Luna. She went from being self-involved and obnoxious to being a very likeable character.
I hate doing bad reviews; I have friends who are authors and my daughter is an author. That said, let's talk about this book...

I read this is going to be the last book of Nocturne City, at least for awhile. Since this is what Ms. Kittredge wrote in her blog ("At this time, there’s no more plans for more Nocturne City novels") If that is the case, then I'm pretty satisfied with the development in Luna's life.
There are some parts I like and dislike. The one I like the most will be:
1) Luna finally makes a further step in her relationship with Will (he's really good for her, I know)
2) Goodbye, Dmitri, (view spoiler)...more

Luna, Luna, Luna! Luna finds herself in a mess...again. Luna is tasked with finding the murderer of a young female Were. If that wasn't enough stress on her, the girl belonged to a wealthy family and the girl's father is the Alpha male of the community. Luna finds herself abroad in this book, and not of her own free will. Luna uncovers a ring of nasty criminals that work throughout the states and the European nations. Just when she decides what to do with her love life she encounters her old boy...more
First, the good news: I was into the story throughout the whole book and was never bored or lost. Now for the other stuff.
I normally don't have the time to get very specific in my reviews and just share my general impressions, but there were a few things I just couldn't let go. First, Luna starts off really unlikeable and doesn't get a whole lot better (even though it's easy to root for her kicking bad guy ass. They are really bad guys.) Within the first 7 pages she has stiffed a guy on a tip an...more

Insoli Luna Wilder fights her were demon a lot. She is working as a cop for CSC and is called to the scene of a murder of a young girl were whose heart has been removed. Luna senses magick is involved and when she is confronted by Lily Dubois' parents, she is quite taken by storm. They are a very strong pack and, as she is a loner, there is the very real threat to her investigation and to her own self.
Luna fights many demons in this book and it is very action-packed. She ends up in a brothel in...more

Caitlin Kittredge does such an excellent job creating this mysterious, dark world with weres and witches. And she creates characters that you absolutely love and some you love to hate. This time around, she had me staying up late to find out what was going to happen next. I was on the edge of my seat, I laughed, I cried, and I was so tense from the thrilling adventure we were taken on that it took me hours to calm down. I love this series, and they just keep getting better. The smart and gutsy L...more

Daemon's Mark
takes you on another wild ride with Insoli Luna, Lieutenant in charge of the Supernatural Crime Squad for the Nocturne City Police Dept. As always, Luna is determined to "get her man" after she is brought in on the homicide of Lily Dubois, a young were. She always has a tendency to act first, think later. But, she's always had her team and those that care about her to help her out of any situations she gets herself into. This time, charging in takes her to a place where only one p...more
Daemon's Mark is the fifth (and final) installment in the Nocturne City novels. This book can be summed up into one word for Nocturne City fans, "WOW". I've been a fan of this series since page one of Night Life. Luna is a kick-ass, smart mouthed, troubled character, who will always try to do right for someone, even if it means hurting herself in the process. Dimirti, her ex-boyfriend/fellow were, and Luna had a falling in book 3(Second Skin, and we didn't get to see any of him in Witch Craft(bo...more
This series is one that I have luckily read in order. I'm not saying you would be totally lost if you read this one without the others first, but it would probably be harder. Anyways, this book revealed the "softer" side of Luna. She's still a rough around the edges cop and mostly a major, well you know. But in this book she seems more human.
Having Will in her life has been a good influence. She may not realize it but she is growing as a person. Even if she feels like the animal inside is trying...more

I finished Daemon's Mark, the fifth and final instalment of Nocturne City series written by Caitlin Kittredge.
Looking back I can see that the title of the book it's perfect but I can't say that this book surprised me. I already expected that ending.
In the other side, I'm pleased to see that Luna finally behaved like a real woman and not like a brainless werewolf. She actually surprised in that department.
Other than that, there are better series in urban fantasy than this one. I would expect an...more

My copy of this book has the back cover copy of Witch Craft on it. Strange...
A disappointing end to a series. Luna started to show growth as a character in the last two books then, in this one, she went back to the start. She became vastly more obnoxious to the point where she became hard to relate too. I felt no sympathy for her situation in the end nor was I interested in her plight.

After the just ok last book, this series is back. Luna seems to have settled into her life and it has become almost normal, with the exception of turning into a were and dating an immortal man. And you know what happens when life becomes blah in a book, it means that all hell is ready to break open and sure enough it does right after Luna is called to a crime.
It is a seemingly normal murder, but one that puts Luna in grave danger by chasing one clue after another. Luna finds herself at the mercy...more

/shudder I liked the rest of this series a lot. I used to read supernatural fiction a lot, but got off it for a while. It's been ages since I've found a series that I actually liked. Most of the earlier books in this series I've found through the used book store. But this one, I couldn't find. So eventually I bought it. Waste of money. First off, the timeline in the beginning didn't mesh. First they say that her body's been in the water for 12 hours. Later, they say that she died around 2:30 or...more

I was sad that this was the last of the series. I really like Luna! I like the world that Caitlin Kittredge came up with. I had mixed feelings about this one though, I like how she brought into light the Brothels that are overseas, but I didn't like how she was weak at times. But all in all I enjoyed it, and was worth the read.

This book is intense... Luna is super survivor mode here. I didn't like the story theme too much since it involves sex-slaves.
I'm just wondering what happened to all the girls? Luna kept making promises. It's annoying. But I'm happy to see that Luna is moving on in the men department. :)
I really love this author! Will there be a book 6? Sounds like in the end there's still more for Luna.

It took me forever to get to this book, and I"m not really sure why as I have enjoyed the books in the past. I was under the impression that this was the last book in the series and yet the ending seemed to be implying there were unresolved issues and that would be addressed in another book. I haven't been able to find any info about it though.

Honestly I really enjoy this series. But I skipped a book, which I really need to read. This is on of those that it's best to read in order. You can skip around, Ms Kittredge is great at giving back up info from other books, but this is just one of those series that is better to read in order.

Okay, this book was quite disturbing for me.
Luna is being threatened by some bad-ass Russian mob family that is filthy rich and of course, weres. She has to find the killer of a young girl, which leads her to skin trading. Eventually Luna has to turn to Dmitri for help when she has to travel to Russia. Luna with her mouthy tough girl attitude seems to go back to being self-destructive.

Caitlin started writing novels at age 13. Her first was a Star Wars tie-in. Fortunately, she branched out from there and after a few years trying to be a screenwriter, a comic book writer and the author of copious amounts of fanfiction, she tried to write a novel again. Her epic dark fantasy (thankfully) never saw the light of day but while she was struggling with elves and sorcerers she got the i...more
