Second novel of short stories in Andrea Camilleri's Montalbano universe. Unlike the first one, all the short stories are set in Vigata and have Montalbano as he always is, the highly intuitive but moody commissario, who loves to eat alone and loves to solve mysteries. In this anthology we have the full scope of Montalbano's talent from solving a case of smugglers, murderers and adultery. The best one is the one titled "Catarella solve a case" it's

I have to say, I am generally disappointed with this book. To me, a collection of short crime stories that all take place in Sicily promises, if not full-on excitement, at least an interesting view of a place I've never been. This book delivered neither. The stories are altogether rather tedious, the endings are anti-climactic, and the main character, the crime-solving Commissario is a thoroughly unsympathetic and in all other ways a dry and uninteresting creation. This is a book that I finished ...more

another very enjoyable read from Camilleri. While every story isn't equally good, the overall experience of reading the stories about il Comissario Montalbano is so comfortable, so pleasant, really like an old friend. It's not great lit, but it's great reading.

l'avevo letto molti anni fa.

I have it in a Swedish translation, since many years, and I read it once in a while; I like it very much. Short stories, and some of them were manuscripts for the TV-series about Montalbano!

¡Me encanta Camilleri!
