Το ''Never Fuck Up'' είναι το δεύτερο μέρος της τρίλογίας ''Stockholm Noir'' του Jens Lapidus, ο οποίος φαίνεται να έχει λαμπρό μέλλον στο πεδίο της σύγγραφής crime βιβλίων.

Ever since Steig Larsson's Millennium Trilogy beginning with THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO took the world by storm, Scandinavian crime novels have enjoyed tremendous popularity in the United States.

NEVER FUCK UP is the second book in a trilogy known as the Swedish Noir Trilogy, by Jens Lapidus, a famous criminal defense attorney in his country, and is a terrifically edgy, raw, and hard-boiled story about the underbelly of modern Stockholm.

The book follows three different characters in three se

Siisti kosto on toinen osa Stockholm noir -sarjaan. Tässäkin kirjassa − jonkun kriitikon mukaan muka − ollaan jameselroymäisessä fiiliksessä nykyajan Tukholmassa.

Sarjan ensimmäisen osan tapaan tarinaa lähestytään kolmen eri henkilön näkökulmasta, ja tapahtumien keskiössä on jälleen serbi Radovan eli mafian kummisetä, jonka asemaa muut yrittävät vavisuttaa − kostaja Jorge tulee mukaan kuvioihin tarinan edetessä. Muutoin samoja hahmoja ei juurikaan ole.

Yllättävää kyllä tässäkin romaanissa on maaha

After readig part one, I was very curious about part two too. In the beginning i was a bit confused though.
There are more resos for that. one is, that this new book doesn't start where the first one finished. i had the feeling for quite some time, that Ii was rading a whole new book without any links to the first. Started to wonder where the 'trilogy idea' came from.
Secondly, there was the anguaage part. Altough this book two was translated by th same translator, the use of language, slang, wa

This is the first time I rate book lower than it deserves, and that's because I didn't "like" it. Maybe because it felt like a dumped down version of its prequel.

Aldrig fucka upp or Siisti kosto continues the saga Snabba Cash (Rahalla saa) started, but manages to lose the few threads I liked about the first book. It makes a great stand alone novel rather than the second part of a trilogy though.

Why isn't this book listed under my whodunit shelf? you ask and I answer. It's because I didn't care

Before concentrating on Aldrig Fucka Upp, let me say that I read the first part of the trilogy (Snabba Cash) before moving on to the second part. I liked the first part alot.

As for the second part, I must tragically say that it was worse than the first part and a bit too similar too at times. I didn't really like some of the choices that the author had made regarding the plot and how it was carried on at all. Mainly though I had problems with the similarity of some of the characters when compare

Lapidus johdattaa lukijan hektisellä otteellaan Tukholman alamaailmaan, jota johtaa julma serbimafia kintereillään nousukkaat arabit ja chileläiset.

Lapiduksen on sanottu uudistavan ruotsalaista dekkariperinnettä. Naulankantaan.

Lapidus on kuulemma Ruotsin vankilakirjastojen lainatuinta tavaraa. Helppo uskoa, sillä Lapidus puhuu

This series is growing on me. The first book I was so distracted by language issues (even though I read it in it's original language which is my native tongue) that I had a hard time getting into the story. This was not a problem with this book - the language is good and I feel like the story has a better flow. No unneccessary sections just to show that the author knows how to "talk the talk".

The book does not start where the last one ended. I got confused by that at first - this being a series

Not the slam dunk that Easy Money/Snabba Cash was, still it had an interesting plot and good ideas. Worth a look. As for plot, it's set in the same world as Snabba Cash, but only has some of those main characters as peripheral characters in this story. Unlike the 2nd Swedish film, JW is not even in this story. However, with that said, this is ambitious novel writing, an attempt to solve the Olaf Palme murder mystery *and* take on white slavery and the fall of society. The prose doesn't have that ...more

An elite mercenary whose mother suffered abuse at the hands of her boyfriend. A Muslim wannabe gangster. A good cop turned rogue after he unwittingly stumbles into a political plot at the top levels of government.

What do they all have in common? You'll have to read "Never Fuck Up: A Novel" to see.

This is the second book of a series (I didn't read the first. Lapidus, a criminal attorney for gangsters in Sweden, writes of the world he has come to know through his clients. He does so with skill, hu

Eesti seekord heas kontekstis: sealt saab lapsendamiseks kena valge lapsukese.

Viket naturligtvis sker i vissa fall.

Boken funkar bra som en skön popcornrulle.

The book did not continue from book 1, so it was kind of difficult to see how this is a trilogy. Some of the characters were not believable in their actions anymore. The pace here was, however, better than in book 1. The translator into Finnish has done a great job. The writing style of Lapidus is still refreshing, so I believe I'll finish the series. It would be nice to read about a somehow likeable character in Lapidus' novels.

Although I enjoyed this author's previous book "Easy Money", I found this very long, convoluted novel extremely unconvincing. Told from the contrasting viewpoints of three characters, none of whom seemed particularly original or authentic, it kept stuttering all over the place and I was frequently confused by what was happening. Far from clarifying matters, the denouement seemed to complicate them further.

How it ended did not convince me at all, idk. It was a good book, but when I saw there were few pages to finish it and that I thought it was still in the middle of the thing I was like..mmhhhmmm I guess this will not end as good as snabba cash. And indeed I was right.Giving 4 instead of 3 because Even though to me ends are SUPER important and this one wasn't really what I expected, The book was interesting and catching.

Much weaker than the first book :-( I found that the stories do not interrelate/add to each other, the personalities are not really credible, and the ending (which I think is always the most difficult part of a story) is not succeeded. For me it feels too obvious that there is another book to follow...

Even though I am a bit disappointed, I will still read the next book as well :-)

wel, contrary to many opinions I have read about the second part of this trilogy, I thought the story was well developed , with the 3 main characters merging together in a frentic ending of the book.

Alrighty then, Don't know what I did for Goodreads to take my review down, but I'll try again.

I found this book to be drama central vs. focusing on the story/character development and building suspense that way. I don't know if that is an issue within the trilogy because this, as usual, is the only book that has been translated (or it was at the time of my original review for this book)
