I picked up the Jack and Danny Chronicles because the author was recommended to me by Jenre and a few other readers. Having heard high praise for Black’s work I may try one more book but this particular offering is littered with incredibly poor editing, numerous grammar mistakes, and a repetitive plot that literally goes nowhere. On the plus side the characters are somewhat likable and there is a sense of silly, ridiculous over the top fun to the story. If you buy into that sense of ridiculous w...more

There were some parts of this book that bugged the hell out of me. The way Jack let his friend Tristan treat Danny was so not cool. It was obvious the guy did not have a good opinion of Danny and would have loved to break the two up. But, I have to say, I was laughing so hard through most of this book. And I mean deep belly laughing hysterically, tears running down my eyes. The spider scene, the special sandwiches that Danny made, his trials delivering the mail.. All were priceless scene...more

First, this book is tears-in-the-eyes-face-hurts funny. I laughed until I couldn't breathe.
The characters are incredibly well done. I normally don't like first person much, but it wasn't bothersome at all here. The only things I had issues with (Jack's friends and the fact that he shared some details with them that I thought shouldn't have been shared to name one...) added to the fleshed out feeling of the book and plot, so, even those weren't really a downside.

A story of a domestic discipline couple Jack (the sir) and Danny (his boy). Danny is a trouble prone, bratty, often immature sub totally in love with his sir but insecure in that love. Jack is ever patient but disciplining sir. A whole cast of characters as well with Tristian deserving much of the pranks Danny throws at him. The language is total British humor with its snarky and long prose. Very light on sexual action - is more of a story of a relationship.
I don't think I've had so much fun reading a book as I had with this one! It's hilarious. Nearly the entire novel except for a certain few pages is written in Danny's POV and just the way his brain works has me in stitches. The fact that Jack being older, all prim and proper like your average Dom still ends up hyperventilating and breathing into paper bags from Danny's antics is probably what endeared me the most to the couple. I just couldn't put this book down!
The funniest book I have ever read. I can't really remember any grammar/spelling mistakes in the book (probably because I was too busy laughing) but this may have something to do with the fact that Fabian Black is a british author and grammar/spelling are slightly different to american books? I do notice the difference when american authors use the word 'insure' in a totally different context to how the british use it.
Kassa review explain what I think of this story better than everything I'd wrote. Only I find this story more funny than annoying, that's why I give it a 3.5 stars. The no ending, no evolution of the character bother me more.
