I adored the opening scenes of this book - filled with humor, sadness, insight and immediately making the reader want to know who Alessandra is and what happened to her - it kicks off a book I read through in a single sitting.

The inital meeting between Alessandra and Penn doesn't disappoint, and neither does their chemistry throughout the book or how Ridgway layers both backstories along the way.

In fact, she perfectly weaves Alessandra's story in a way that keeps you wondering and never ventures
This is the first in a trilogy about the Baci sisters of Napa Valley, CA. Alessandra Baci is the youngest sister and the most determined to save the family's winery. They made a promise to their father on his death bed to save the winery--at the same time they found out how poorly he had run the family's legacy. Allie's older sisters are less optimistic about the turnaround, but they give in to their little sister as does everyone else in town. Allie is still known as "Tommy's Girl" to most ever ...more

Alessandra Baci hasn’t had much luck when it comes to love. Five years ago, her high school sweetheart Tommy died on their wedding day. Now dubbed the “nun of Napa ,” Alessandra is destined to carry her heartache on her sleeve.

As owner of the 100-year-old Tanti Baci winery with her sisters, Alessandra is content to run the business and go it alone. That is until the handsome playboy Penn Bennett comes to town.

Alessandra Baci is an Italian cutie, loved by all and affectionately known as the "Nun of Napa." For the past 5 years Alessandra has been living her life without really moving forward. With her family winery and land in jeopardy, she is determined to make it a desirable place for couples to have their weddings. 4.5 Stars.

Really enjoyed this book. The setting in Napa Valley was fun. The pairing of a TV Home Repair guy with a woman determined to keep her family's winery in business was sweet. Especially since the hero, Penn, is determined to be a hard ass and the heroine, Allie, is her small town's favorite daughter. There was also a fabulous secondary friends to lovers romance between Allie's friend Clare (who is set to become the first bride married in the winery's new wedding destination venture) and

I liked this book and I'm looking forward to the next books. I really wanted to like Alessandra, but there were elements of her I wasn't crazy about. The secondary story about Clare and Gil was sometimes more interesting than the main story.
Brianna (The Book Vixen)
At the tender age of 20, Alessandra Baci was set to marry Tommy, her high school sweetheart. Tommy was diagnosed with cancer and thought to be in remission. Sadly, he died 15 minutes before the wedding, leaving Allie alone at the altar. Allie has forever been known as “Tommy’s Girl” and Sally, Tommy’s mother, won’t let her forget that. For the past 5 years, Allie hasn’t been able to move on and this has earned her another nickname – the Nun of Napa.
On his death bed, Mario Baci informed his daugh

Crush On You was a fun contemporary romance with a bit of everlasting heartbreak on the side. What I found most interesting about this book was that besides the main romance between Alessandra and Penn there was a secondary romance between Alessandra’s best friend and her cousin, and to me that secondary romance completely stole my heart. It was the story between two best friends, one of whom is about to be married when the other realizes he’s completely in love with her but it’s basically too l ...more

Considered the "Nun of Napa" due to her nonrelationships for the past 5 years, Alessandra Baci is all set to enter into a secret affair with Penn "Build Me Up" Bennett. She's head over heels in lust with Penn and he feels the same. Along the way, the relationship turns into more and therein lies the plot of the story.

The opening scenes of this story are simply laugh out loud funny as Craig introduces most of the characters, and the witty conversations are simply brilliant. As interesting as Ale

I read the newer version titled "Make Him Wild" as a free e-file as a member of the author's Facebook "California Girls". The 3 part series is about 3 sisters who are trying to save their family's winery, after the learn after their father's death that the winery is in dire financial state. This book is about Alessandra (Allie), the youngest, who is known as the Nun of Naples, because 5 years ago, her fiance died of cancer on the morning of their wedding. The whole town feels sorry for her and h ...more
I liked this light romance, which has great romantic tension between the two lead characters. The actions of the heroine at the end had me scratching my head, but the fun and romance carried the story. Ridgway does a good job of teasing us with other romances in the series, and I will definitely be reading them to find out what happens to the other Bacci sisters.

This was my first book by Christie Ridgway. It was a fast read romance set in a winery. The secondary romance was also very interesting. I did not like the part where Allie thinks that saving her winery is more important than her friend's HEA.But other than that the characters were new and story engaging

An annoying heroine, silly premise, and an unbelievable romance.
Enjoyed this more than I expected, which I don't know why I didn't expect to like it. Penn was great, really loved him. Allie was saved from being obnoxious by her personality. Loved the relationship between them, especially Penn calling her out on her martyrdom and Allie's teasing Penn about being a "nice guy". Townspeople were irksome. I have that problem in almost every book set in a "small town". Great side romance with Clare and Gil, just when I was about to write Clare off there was a nice ...more

I wanna make this short, I am so tired today for some reason.

Right, so I read book 2 first I think, then book 3 and at last book 1. Don't say anything ;)

I wanted to read about Alessandra since day 1. The Nun of Napa. She was sweet and kind. In a way there was not anything special about her. Except for that her husband to be died 15 min before their wedding and the whole town has tip toed around her ever since. Mourning is one thing, but being the living memory of him and no men looking at her is

Crush on You is the first book in a new trilogy by Christie Ridgway set in Napa Valley wine country. I loved her previous series about knitting so it wasn't a stretch that this book (and the series) would be equally enjoyable and entertaining.

Alessandra Baci's grand plan to restore the Baci wedding cottage to it’s former glory and rent it out for wedding ceremonies, seems like just the ticket to bring in extra revenue and save Tanti Baci from certain bankruptcy. But her plan hits an unexpected r
Alessandra Baci has had a hard life. First, her fiance died the day of their wedding. Fifteen minutes before the ceremony to be exact. Then, she had to carry the name of the "Nun of Napa" because the folks in her town dictated that she would carry all of their sorrow for them. Now, she and her sisters are about to lose the Tanti Baci vineyard which has been in her family for decades.
Penn Bennett has also had a hard life. He was raised by a single mom and now, his father has died and finally dec

Known as the "Nun of Napa" Alessandra Baci has her fair share of tragedy in her life, the final straw is the possibility of losing her families winery if she cant make it into a wedding destination. With her builders ready to walk out, Alessandra feels her hopes slipping away.

Television sensation Penn Bennett has never seen a woman who has evoked sensuality, curiousity, and manipulation all rolled into one until he lays eyes on Alessandra. Watching her he knows two things, he wants her and he nn

This is one of the worst blurbs ever and Christy Ridgway has one of those websites I hate. One that is cutsie and fun but that gives no real useful information. There’s no blurb for Crush on You, only a link to buy the damn thing. That’s where I got this gem of a blurb. It’s a real shame because this craptastic blurb is hiding a gem of a book.

Despite the awesome beginning of the book where Alessandra Baci is putting on her five year old wedding dress on the day of her would-be anniversary, she i

I have previously enjoyed several books by Christie Ridgway, most recently, I read the Knitting trilogy and was excited that another set was coming out. So far, I am not impressed.

For a first book, Crush never gave enough information about the sisters and why I should care about their upcoming novels. To be honest, I came away from this book more interested in the Bennetts, especially the missing Bennett sister, whom I hope shows up in one of the other books.

Crush on You is the story of Penn Ben
OK. This is my FIRST Ridgway book and I liked her style. :) What can I say about the book?? Well, only thing that had me picking this one was for the winery theme. I had loved The Seductive One which was about this Italian family running winery.

This is nothing similar to Susan Mallery's Marcelli family. Another thing similar was family feud. Here, we don't know much but there is secondary characters' romance going on too.. This is light read., not much details about the feud or family biz. So,

This book gets 3.5 stars from me. It was a very cute contemporary romance novel and very enjoyable. Allie is the "nun of Napa" since she has devoted the last 5 years to bearing the grief of her fiancé's death 15 minutes before their wedding. Penn's character was truly a nice guy and I felt happy that they both got their HEA in the end. I enjoyed that the book was based out of Napa on a winery but thought the book made Napa feel like a smaller town than it actually is. Some of the storyline was a ...more

Alessandra Baci is twenty-five, exotically beautiful, smart and kind - and not a single man in her tiny Napa Valley hometown of Edenville would dare to harbor a lustful or romantic thought about her. Allie's fitting nickname, 'the Nun of Napa,' was earned five years ago when her fianceé died on the way to their wedding. Allie and Tommy were high school sweethearts and the memory of their tragic, romantic love has kept the residents of Edenville from ever seeing Allie as anything more than Tommy' ...more

What is the worst thing that could happen to a bride on her wedding day? No it is not spilling red wine all over the white dress, it’s having your fiancé die minutes before your wedding. Now five years later Alessandra is known around town as the Nun of Napa because she carries everyone’s grief over her lost love. Alessandra and her sisters own a winery that is about to close its door forever unless they can make their new wedding location a reality. They will need help from the Penn Bennett, a ...more
