TOTAL hotness! I just gobbled this one up! It's only 60 pages or so, but somehow it felt longer (in a good way). I swear Elle Kennedy does better with these novellas (rather than a full length book)--she adds just enough backstory, plot, and character development to go with all the sizzling sex scenes, and things move fast, fast, fast! And OMG, her heroes are masters of the "dirty talk"--whew!

This one is #4 in her Out Of Uniform series, which features Navy SEALs based in San Diego. The plot of t...more

Another shorter one (only around 60 pages), but Elle Kennedy does extremely well in this length story. She builds up the story, and perfectly concludes it.

I love Jane. She's so utterly open and honest, not holding her thoughts in, she's more than a little direct, and absolutely charming with it. You can't help but like someone that tells it like it is and doesn't let anyone else hide behind half hidden thoughts and words.

Thomas Becker is just coming out of a divorce, and he's quite gun-shy about...more

Holy hell, these just keep getting hotter!

Lt. Thomas Becker is the new leader of the SEAL team. Fresh off a divorce from his model wife, Alice, he's not looking for love or a relationship. A rescue mission to save an American photographer, Elizabeth Harrison, from a hostile environment leaves him with a bullet in his arm and some time off for physical therapy. When Elizabeth's sister, Jane, shows up one day requesting an interview, he turns her down. Not one to give up, Jane chases him down and...more

Fun with Dick errr Beck and Jane.

Take one Navy SEAL recovering from a gunshot wound sustained in the line of duty, mix in one reporter with the body of a playboy bunny who suffers from claustrophobia, strand them in an elevator and the result is a little “let’s get it on” in Heat it Up. If the problem with the elevator had been purely electrical - then the sparks flowing between Thomas “Beck” Becker and Jane Harrison could have powered up the thing itself.

This book reminded me a lot of another o...more

I think I'd actually give this sucker 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed almost everything about it. For it being such a short piece, it didn't feel that way in regards to Becker and Jane's relationship. Even their first sexual encounter didn't seem off, like it does sometimes when characters just meet and hop into the sack. I felt their attraction, their sexual tension. Plus, I think it helped that they weren't all of the sudden OMG, SEW IN LURVE!!!! immediately. They were realistic in what they were...more

I loved how this book starts out with the hero and heroine getting trapped in an elevator. Unfortunately for the heroine Jane, she is highly claustrophobic and has a major panic attack. What's a hero to do but have wild sex with her to distract her. LOL
The hero Becker has recently divorced and is very quiet and reserved (it's the quiet ones who are the wildest) and Jane is outspoken, can carry on a conversation with a rock and is drop dead gorgeous with a pair of breasts that would be at home at...more

3.5 stars, rounded up. review to come.

Why I read them: After enjoying Getting Hotter, I was curious about how some of the other couples had gotten together and decided to finish reading the other books I'd picked up immediately after reading Feeling Hot. It didn't take long, the earlier books are short and it remained what I was in the mood to read - a sexy, fun contemporary where I didn't have to think too much with low angst levels.

I have put them in order here, but I read them out of order (...more

My review cross-posted from Joyfully Reviewed: http://www.joyfullyreviewed.com/new-r...

Reporter Jane Harrison is writing a piece on her sister’s rescue by a Navy SEAL team and she’s determined to talk to Thomas Becker, the man who was in charge of the rescue mission. Becker doesn’t want to be interviewed, but when he and Jane find themselves trapped in an elevator, Becker discovers that he does want the brazen beauty herself. Their erotic encounter leaves both Jane and Becker wanting more, but B...more

Becker was just plain hot; hands down. The elevator scene made me turn my air conditioner in the middle of October! Let me just say that a writer can never go wrong including a character that is a Navy SEAL and Kennedy did not disappointment me with Becker. He is not like the other SEALS characters (who are more playful) Becker is a serious character but falls just as hard as all the other guys have for that one woman.

This was a fun story, one that will make you think about those you meet in an elevator. I liked how blunt Jane was, it seemed like it was just what Becker needed as he is so up tight.

I couldn't fault Becker for what he thought he saw, without the context, it was damning. I was glad to see that the others managed to talk some sense into him and things ended just the way they should.

I really liked Jane in this one. I liked that she had no filter and was straight to the point. She was good for Thomas' abrupt "show no emotion" manner. I really like the back story and how they were connected. Kudos to the love in an elevator *rawr*. I know it's all plot development, but I wish Thomas would have focused on his growing attraction rather than finding reasons why they shouldn't have been and letting it go more naturally. The end is worth it though.

3.5 stars. I liked Becker-he was steady and sweet. Jane was fun and the perfect foil for him. I sure wish these.books were a little longer. I want to see more!

It's official.

Elle Kennedy is the QUEEN of the Erotic Novella!

The Out Of Uniform Series just keeps getting better and better.

Love Elle Kennedy but can't stand the "female reporter" heroine. I trust my GR friends that its a good read. ;-)

Just a good novella for killing an hour of time. Not a book I'd read over and over, though.

I liked this one! Had just enough romance and sex!!
Becky Moore
This series was quick to read, and fun.
Lyndi
Cute, but full of cliches.
Autumn (Fic Talk)
This series has surprised me and has gotten better with each book.
Awilk -will work for books-
Elle Kennedy has written another quick, short and hot little read. These stories are about a group of Navy seals and the women they fall in love with. The story lines are simple, but I find them enjoyable enough to fill in a couple of hours.
Ridley
Good hot erotic novella. Kennedy does a good job with the short format, building up only as much story as there's room for and resolving it without it feeling hasty.
Candace
Some of the terminology in this series throw me right out of the moment and into gags-ville but all in all I enjoy the characters and the writing is good. Will continue.
Ktama

Another hit in this series!! Jane is my she-ro!! Love a strong heroine who goes after what she wants and speaks her mind. Becker was an idiot at times but I understood his hesitation to get involved in another relationship. Hot and steamy read with surprising amount of emotion for a novella.
Mspink
Cute story. Hot navy seal men. But way too short. Didn't really feel satisfied in the end. Wanted more. But hot love scenes and good to hear a little from some of the past characters.
