Summary of the Trojan horse

What would you do if your wife was taken away from you to marry a stranger?
This is what king Menelaus from Greece did...The Trojan horse is a Greek myth adapted by Justine & Ron Fontes, Gordon Purcell and Barbara Schultz into a graphic novel. The story is about the war between Troy and Greece. It started because Helen, who is the wife of the king of Greece, fell in love with Paris, prince of Troy. Paris decided to marry Helen in Troy. This is a perfect book for teachers to use during any Greek mythology unit. It starts from the beginning detailing everyone that will play a part in the book and goes into detail about how Paris will bring down the empire as he chooses Aphrodite to be the most beautiful woman and later sees Helen of Troy and makes Aphrodite even angrier saying that she is the most beautiful now. Synopsis: "For ten years, the battle raged. Thousands of ancient Greece's best warriors battled their enemies, the Trojans, in a desperate attempt to win back King Meneleus's beautiful wife, Helen. After a decade of fighting and thousands dead, the Greek forces suddenly fell back. Cautiously the Trojans ventured out of the city walls, where they discovered a giant wooden horse and a messenger. Should they accept this peace offering? Or is the gift horse too good to be true?"

My Review: I really e
After reading this I realized why know one really knows much about the story of Troy. The whole thing STINKS. Okay, so it's mildly interesting, but there is no clear good guy or bad guy, lots of people die for no very good reason, weird stuff happens that doesn't make much sense. I guess this could be an illustration of the stupidity of war. This comic is a little graphic for young readers.

Part of a collection of Mythology Graphic Novels I picked up for my classroom. Good for helping to build background knowledge but not necessarily great. Kids will devour these.
