SUPER SHORTY

I did enjoy this book. I really did. I loved the humor and the wits of the characters. And also the huge plot.

The problem is maybe I'm too old for this kind of books.

Still, very nice read.

I don't usually rate books I haven't, myself, read.

However, the Geronimo Stilton books were the only ones (beyond The Mouse and The Motorcycle) that my son would read when he was in 3rd grade. He just, plain, hated reading.

He didn't LOVE these, necessarily, and at times the font changes were difficult for him (some of it is in cursive.. something he couldn't read at that age). But he didn't complain or cry about reading them, either, which means it gets 5 stars from a grateful mom.

Read two books from this series today to get a good idea as to why some of my 4th graders are drawn to these. Silly, adventures galore, colorful illustrations, fun/colorful font, additional section at the end for how to be a fit mouse, author blended mouse in various words (Mouseum, fabumouse...), and short chapters make for easy/satisfactory reads. Ever see a movie where the kids LOVED it, but the adult viewer said "meh..."? Great for kids-not ultra critical adults. Story of GS first marathon a ...more

I think this book is great because there is lots of adventure. If i had to rate this book from 1-10 i would give its a 10 because all the mystery and adventure there is. If had to recommend this book to a student i would highly recommend it. This book is great because it has mystery, youth adventure and funny stuff like jokes.

I think this book was pretty decent. Geronimo is at his desk doing his work when a muscular coach comes in and tells Geronimo that he is going into a marathon. Geronimo is really scared because he is weak and wimpy. He has to wake up at 6:30 am and takes a long run around mouse city. He is all suited up for the big marathon. they get there and boom the marathon starts. Geronimo is doing preety good and stops for some water and snacks on the marathon. He went threw all of things like saving mouse ...more

I liked this book. I think that Geronimo is a boring mouse. Also I never thought that Geronimo would do training to win in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. I'm also surprised that Geronimo came in 1st place. Also Geronimo is never cool like Thea and Trap. Trap is a cool mouse and a funny mouse. I never thought that a joker like Trap would help a person that they always make fun of like Geronimo. Geronimo's nephew Benjamin is a life saver to Geronimo during the training and during the mouse island marat

Mouse Island Marathon is about a mouse named Geronimo Stilton and he thinks he needs to lose some pounds. Geronimo hires a professional trainer so that he can be fit. The trainer made Geronimo get up every morning at six o'clock to exercise. When the trainer thought Geronimo had enough exercise he entered Geronimo in a walking marathon. When geronimo started the race he encountered alot of problems. What i learned from this book is that you always have to beleive in yourself even when you think ...more

Eh. Some of these Stilton books are great (Mummy with no Name), some (like this one) are just lame. My 6yo wanted to know how SO MANY things could happen in so short a time period (fire, earthquake, diving off bridge, etc) with 1 the race no being cancelled and 2) Geronimo winning when he's not that great a runner AND saved all these people. So crazy unrealistic a 6yo thought it was not even interesting. On top of which, it comes with preachy health tips in the back. *Sigh*--I am not reading the ...more

I learning from this book that you always have to believe youself, that you can do it! Geronimo Stilton thought her was way to weak to run a marathon.... the coach (I forgot his name) trained him very badly... lots of things stop Geronimo... I highly recommend this book!

One of my journalling students recommended I read this - the book laid out with clever fonts and text color that emphasizes words' meanings. Nicely designed, too - made it easy for younger readers to enjoy and move through the story.
