The third book to wrap up the “Call of Duty” series, PURSUIT OF JUSTICE surrounds itself in intrigue and a family controversy that promises to be difficult to untangle.

I must admit that I was personally not as impressed with PURSUIT OF JUSTICE as the previous two books in this series. While the book is a normal novel length, I didn’t fly through it on the wings of the suspense. I thought the heroine was kind of flat. She just didn’t have a great deal of dimension and depth to her. I couldn’t rea

I really enjoy DiAnn Mills' books whether historical romances or contemporary suspense, I'm rarely disappointed. Her latest book is Pursuit of Justice, the third installment of the contemporary suspense series, Call of Duty. While not as believable a story and not as much romance as the previous books I still enjoyed it.

First off if you have an aversion to reading about murder and corpses turning up you might want to steer clear of this story. It's not graphic but it's probably not fo
Wonderfully written!

DiAnn Mills has delivered yet another terrific book in Pursuit of Justice. I actually had a hard time liking Bella, but that didn't stop the pages from turning! Maybe I didn't like her character because she seemed so much like me: stubborn, independent, and controlling (even though I try not to be!). Bella's reluctance to give her life to God stemmed from events in her childhood. I can identify with that and it makes me squirm. While my circumstances were different than Bella

Pursuit of Justice is the third book in the Call of Duty series by DiAnn Mills.

Bella Jordon is an FBI agent who gets assigned to a case in West Texas. Bodies were found on the High Butte Ranch in Runnels County. It is believed the men were looking for gold believed to be burried in the area, also know as the Spider Rock treasure. Bella lived in the area as a young girl and had never planned to return.A man thought to be connected to the crime is some one from Bella's past. Bella also suspects he

Pursuit of Justice is the third book in the Call of Duty series. I have not read the other books and didn’t feel that I missed anything, however I do want to go back and get them now. Bella is a pint size FBI agent working a murder case with three bodies. Carr is a reformed partier with anger issues who has become a Christian. The bodies are found on his property and he is the main suspect. Bella also has to deal with her past. She is assigned to this case because she grew up the area. The scene ...more
Plot: Three men seeking a legendary treasure are found dead on Carr Sullivan's land...after he denied them access. Bella Jordan, FBI special agent is called in to investigate because one of their most wanted may be involved. As she investigates Bella is confronted by her traumatic past. She must also face new feelings and a new faith in God seems to be the only way to handle it all.

Why I picked it up: Not sure why I put this on my to-read list, but I suspect it was the plot point about treasure

PURSUIT OF JUSTICE by DiAnn Mills is the third installment in the Call of Duty series. I am a true fan of Mills’ work, but I must say, PURSUIT OF JUSTICE fell short of my expectations.

Special Agent Bella Jordan has a personal stake in finding out who is behind the Spider Rock murders. Feeling her estranged father or the man she’s run from all her life are at the root of the killings, she digs deep to figure out if they are connected to the multiple murders and the threats against her life. The premise behind this book is a great idea-modern day treasure hunting entangled with family controversy and unexpected love. However, I just could not get connected with the characters or the storyline.

The hero, Carr, has a poignant and authentic testimony of struggling with parting, drugs, alcohol, and violent anger. He turns his life around and endeavors to start a center for at-risk teenage boys, but his past makes him a prime sus

Has Special Agent Bella Jordan bit off more than she can handle? When her past collides with the present, danger lurks ever closer...

DiAnn Mills gets the action started and your mind active from the first pages. Her characters have a mind and will of their own. Numerous conflicts lead to deadly consequences as the death toll rises. DiAnn’s descriptions are vivid and easy to imagine. The dialogue flows well and adds depth to the unseen action. With a bit of creative imagination you can read betwe

I enjoyed this book with all of it's twists and turns. However, I would have liked to have given it a higher rating, but I just could not because of how far it strayed into FBI fiction. Before the book even gets rolling you are forced to suspend reality about how the FBI assigns cases and later in the book far too many FBI protocols are suspended or ignored for believability. It still was an enjoyable read, but I think the author could do a better job of making her fiction believable.
3.5...I guessed the main villains pretty early on, except for one. But the story was good and held my interest as I learned more about the treasure hunters and their very complex crimes.

The first book is still my favorite of the series, but this one's good and was a nice escape read. (Yes, sometimes crime dramas can be escapist for me. Go figure. Or maybe it's just because the last thriller I read was really creepy, and this was a nice difference.)

Liked this one much more than Breach of Trust. I feel like it could have ended a little stronger, but overall a good read. I enjoyed it, but don't think I'll go back to the 2nd one. I will be looking out for her next books. I hope Mrs. Mills writes more historical fiction soon.

I enjoyed this one. Sweet romance, mysteries, misunderstandings, characters that wear their faith on their sleeves without trying to wrap everybody else in it. A good beach read if you want more than chick lit.

Book three of the Call of Duty series by Mills, we are once again given a hard to put down tale of mystery, intrigue, suspense, and romance that is full of twists and turns. In this story we meet FBI agent Bella Jordan. She is made to confront her past because of an assignment and she meets up with Carr Sullivan, a former high roller turned believer after his wife's death. She begins believing in Carr and doesn't exactly follow procedures in which leads to more deaths. Bella and Carr have to wor ...more

Great series of books. Can read each one alone but read in a series is better because you have more background on the characters. Good suspense.

Once I started reading this book, it was hard to put down, and was that way from beginning to end. Ms. Mills did a wonderful job of introducing some history which included a greedy treasure hunter, as well as the woman FBI Agent (Bella) who helped to catch him, Carr's (a land owner's) belief in God and the real treasure Bella & Carr received.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept you on the edge of your seat and was a combination of Christian Fiction, Mystery, a

This is the final book in the series, but the books do not tie into each other at all - they are seperate reads.

Bella is an F.B.I. agent assigned to solve the murder of 3 men hunting for a treasure in the Texas town she grew up in and fled when she was 15 yrs. old.
Carr is the owner of the ranch the dead men were found. He is also a reformed trouble maker.
Brandt is a part of Bella's past and a treasure hunter who will do ANYTHING to get Bella and find the hidden Spider Rock Treasure.

A wonderful book and series. I loved the twisting trail to discover who all the villians were. Also a great story about how someone can actually change and forgiveness. I loved the setting and you could just feel the heat as described by DiAnn Mills. Enjoyed the unfolding romance and the new friendships being formed. Looking forward to reading many more by this author

As with the others in the series, I did enjoy this one. Again, not deep reading by any stretch of the imagination, Mills takes on a treasure hunt and a troubled past for FBI agent Bella, who returns to the county of her youth to solve three murders.

I like the series, and this book fits neatly in with Mills writing.
