This wordless picture book would be appropriate for preschoolers or kindergartners. The word “Hug” is used throughout the book in a word bubble. A little chimp is wondering through the jungle when he sees a baby elephant, snake, and other animals all hugging their mothers. The little chimp becomes sad because he wants a bug and the elephants try to help him find his mother to hug. They see lions hugging, giraffes hugging, and hippos hugging. The animals gather around as the little chimp...more

Lately we have all loved this book. Even Caleb who is currently attached to a less-than-mediocre little people with flaps book, put it aside to enjoy this little gem with Eli and Em at bed time tonight. One of the illustrations has a sad Bobo sitting on an elephants head, ponting and sadly noting the hugging animals--to me it is little monkey Caleb, too often left out. I am happy to say, Bobo is reunited with mommy in the end and everybody shares a hug.

My 5 year old read this one to me. We must have read this one about eleventeen times already. I don't know if we enjoy it so much because of our shared love of calling each other monkeys, or the fact that I always seemed concerned for the monkey when she reads it to me, like I don't know what happens in the book. It's a great book for kids just starting to read, and parents will smile more and more with each read.

This book is very simple, only a total of three different words, but Noah LOVES it. He made me read it to him about 10 times in a row yesterday. The pictures tell the story, and you can keep it simple, or talk about what is happening. Great book for a young toddler.

This is my kids all time favourite book! A really special book with beautiful jungle illustrations all done with felt tip pens and despite there only being one word in the entire story, the story speaks volumes for both child and parent, whatever their ages may be.

It is fun reading. Right now, there are no corrections if the story varies. If parents tell different versions, or a child wants to hear the exact same words and sounds every night, it could turn into a tough readunless youve got a steel-trap memory.

This book is about a baby monkey running around the jungle trying to find someone to give him a hug. If you ever feel bummed out about the level of physical affection in your life, sit with this.

Waits loves this book, about a little monkey named Bobo looking for a hug. Every now and then Waits will randomly call out, "Bobo! ... Mommy! ... HUG!" which means that he needs a hug, too.

5 stars is the joint rating from my 5-yr old and myself. It's probably her all-time favorite. And it's great to read to/with her. Her "auntie" bought it :)

I just went and bought a bunch of the books on my wish list for when we have kids. This was one of them. Can't wait to share this with our upcoming baby!

It's fun how you can emote so many feelings through one word! :) My daughter loves this one right now. I've even heard her say "HUG!" in her sleep. :)

My husband gave me this book for Mother's Day several years ago, and I have to say, it's one of the most touching, darling books I've ever read.

So sweet and simple and beautifully illustrated. A great gift for a pre-reader (it only has 2 words in it; the illustrations tell the story).

This is a great child book. My neighbor gave it to my 2 year old. Her children loved it and so does Carmen. So sweet!

(age 5) I liked this book a lot, but I didn't like when he cried. I would enjoy reading it to Everest a lot.

This is the best book for babies or toddlers. And the best part is that older sibblings can read it to them.

One of my and Maura's favorite books. Only one word is repeated throughout the book, but it's used cleverly.
