I bought this book at a public library book sale over the summer...I liked the book, and it did a good job describing how German Jews tried to survive in America during World War 2...I didn't know that this book was Book 2 of a series UNTIL I entered this book in Good Reads as one of the books that I read. Luckily I didn't have a hard time following the book or its' characters!
Not as good, in my opinion, as Journey to America, but again, Levitin does a beautiful job of highlighting through her fiction what life was like for the refugees of Nazi persecution, such as the hand-me-down clothes and menial labor.
This is a really different kind of book. Its about a Jewish girl that moves to America during WWII.
I have read all this book three times(2008,2010,2013) It is awesome. I love the 2 other books associated with it too!
I need to find the first book in the series.
I love love loved this book when younger!
