Will the Drama Ever End?

It’s been seven years since we congregated with the Jackson family, and, boy, have things changed. Rachel Jackson-Adams, former deviant and preacher kid, is now the first lady of Zion Hill, the very church she grew up in. Though she’d been reluctant at first when Lester, her husband, told her about his calling, she is trying very hard to play her position. Unfortunately, Rachel still has a lot of growing to do. With so much stress from the church, Jordan, her son, and her...more

Very good read! Looking forward to reading Say Amen, Again.

Everybody Say Amen picks up 7 years later, with the Jackson family. Jon is fighting to see his son, after leaving Angela for his lover. David gets cleaned after the passing of his mother and steps up to be a single father and Rachel is just as feisty as ever.

This book had me laughing and crying at the same time. This is really what goes on in SOME black communities and how the family and church family stick together to overcome it.

Temptation comes in all forms. Surprisingly, Rachel is a changed woman once she became like her mother as First Lady, but doesn't want the submissiveness and order like her Mommy. She never imagined getting married to the man who loved her, but at one time, no interest whatsoever. Looks isn't everything, or is it, since temptation is knocking at her door with a past love that is now said all is over with his wife--at one time, Rachel would have been all over him and did what it too to be his. Patience is a virtue and Lester Adams has much patience. He has begged, pleaded and FINALLY won over the love of his life Rachel Jackson and they are now married for five years. Life is going pretty good for the Adams until Lester drops a bombshell on Rachel that she is not willing to deal with! Will they be able to maintain their marriage or will this be the end of Rachel and Lester?

Angela Brooks is trying to move on with her after Jonathan Jackson but is having trouble because Jonathan will no...more

I enjoyed this novel. It had it's moments when it seem to be going slow but then it picked up. Glad that ReShonda let Rachel grow up in this book it took a minute, but at the end she finally got it together. I felt bad for how Rachel treated Lester and was really surprised that she had pushed him to do what he did. Even though he was setup I still thought he was stronger than that. I was really happy that David kept his promise to his dyeing Mother and got off drugs, but not so happy that the cr...more

This book reads almost like a soap opera. There were many references to god but it was actually really mindless entertainment. I wish i could give it a 3.5. The end is a cliff hanger meant to make purchase the next book in the series but i've undecided whether i want to spend another book reading about the Jackson's. Overall, it's a good book.
