The Mr Men and Little Miss collection are so memorable for me I had to do a review on them. Such a simple concept of having different characters named after their personalities has left such a long lasting impression on children. This collection of short stories is all about feeding young children’s imagination, engaging them and good-hearty fun! For example Mr Tickle is about a character whose main feature is his long arms and he his time is spent tickling other characters in the story. Very ...more
A good, fun read, however I feel a lot more could have been done with the plot. It was a little flimsy, and could have had a more comedic outcome.
However the illustrations are good and my children enjoyed the tickling part, even if the ending is a little creepy, although they were too busy laughing to notice (I hope)

I used to love the series when I was younger. Last week I came across this book and discovered how much fun Mr. Tickle is to read to a child (especially one who loves to be tickled, like my daughter)!
A 1001 CBYMRBYGU.
I remember this series of books well from my early years of teaching. I found them pedantic at the time, and I found them pedantic now.

Love the illustrations, but am not a big fan of the writing of these books. But, I didn't read them as a kid, so no thrown tomatoes at me, please. :)
Roger Hargreaves once said 'it always pleases me that even when the Mr Men are 100 years old their readers will always be 5' enough said.
I read this book to my 5 year-old son, and he loved it, but I couldn't help feeling that it was a little pervtastic.
This book takes a while to get to the fun tickle part at the end. Other books do it better.
The first Mr Men book - and set the tone for what was to follow. Certainly a fun book to read!
I've always loved the Mr Men books and this one is one of my favourites

Mr. Tickle has super stretchy arms that allow him to tickle people without being seen. He tickles practically everyone in the town one day.
Funny, but I couldn't help but think how annoying and disruptive this would be. Does that mean I'm getting old? Don't answer that!

The first, and possibly best, of the Mr. Men books. Mr. Tickle's extraordinary long arms allow him to tickle anyone around with little chance of being apprehended. Children love these books and I recommend them most highly.
One of the better date books I've found. The wavy arm is now a fun, permanent part of my relationship. Though this book was my enemy no. 1 as a tike, I probably flip through it once a month now for laughs.
My younger brother had a large collection of the Roger Hargreaves Little Mr. books. Fond of "the tickler", this silly volume proved to be a favorite.
I love these books! Mr. Tickle was my favorite. I still own a few of them and want to eventually have the whole collection.
It is probably impossible to read this book to a child without tickling them. I have such happy / terror filled memories of this book.
this book has it all......a man with long arms, grumpy people being made to smile, and big writing and lots of pics...go mr tickle!
I'll never forget my father pretending to be mr. tickle through my childhood.
This book taught me the word "extraordinarily." I'm forever grateful.
