Basically the perfect ending to a manga; a cliffhanger that shows that the character is still growing and adventure still goes on and the fact that it makes the reader thinks that this is not the end, the characters live on. I loved this manga from the start and it was my Elementary school years basically. It may sound kinds biased but the way Riichiro Inagaki create and build the characters is outstanding. Finally read all of the volumes and it is a fantastic sports manga; hugely entertaining and when it is funny, it is very funny! A little slack off with the final 3 volumes which weren't really necessary, but they were still a good read. Doing 7000+ pages of over-the-top, last-minute-turnarounds American football shenanigans without ever feeling repetitive is an amazing feat.

I was so sad to read the last volume of my favorite manga series. Ah, but all good things must come to an end. On the last page, I literally had to wipe a tear from my eye. Maybe they'll continue Eyeshield, who knows. *shrug*

He is a mangaka from Tokyo, Japan. He debuted in October 2001 with Nandodemo Roku Gatsu Jū San Hi, and also wrote for the magazine Square Freeze and Love Love Santa, published in November 2001 and in February 2002 respectively. He later moved to Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump, in wich he won the 7th "Story King" section in the same year.
