Molly and her friends are trying to think of a birthday gift for Turtle; the problem is, everyone wants to give him a drawing of the same thing! It takes some thought, but eventually Molly comes up with an idea to create a unique gift that Turtle will love by combining the talents everyone involved.

Molly is a mouse who is trying to figure out what to get her friend Turtle for his birthday. Her other friends Pig, Rabbit, Goose and Frog all try to come up with a good idea for a birthday present. Great minds must think alike because they all draw Turtle a picture of a tree. Molly comes up with a great idea on how to incorporate all their pictures together to make one nice present.

This book would be suitable for early elementary grades. The students would like the characters and would enjoy t

Molly the Mouse loves to write, but she is stuck for an idea. She and four of her friends--Pig, Rabbit, Frog, and Goose---brainstorm for gifts for another friend, Turtle, who has a birthday the next day. Each goes to his special place to think. This delightful book demonstrates teamwork and friendship and combining all the ideas into a single gift for Turtle.

The illustrations are beautiful. It does not surprise me at all that this book was chosen for The Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

Molly and friends learn about cooperation in "What's the Big Idea, Molly?" They must pull together in order to create a special birthday gift for their friend Turtle. What a wonderful book to share at a young child's birthday party!

This book is geared towards children ages 4 to 8. My five year read part of this story to me aloud. What a thrill!

This was a Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book that I hadn't read yet, and it doesn't look very interesting if I'm going to be judging a book by its cover. But it was actually a really cute story with a few little lessons to be taken from it. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could, but I can't so it's at 4.

Molly wants to write a poem for her friends birthday, but cant think of any ideas. She and her friends try to put their heads together to come up with a good gift idea. They head out to seek inspiration.
Great story to begin writings with younger children. Shows that everyone gets writers block.

Friendship, cooperation, problem solving appear to be the big ideas. I wonder why Molly (the mouse) gets a name while the other animals are called Rabbit, Goose, Frog, Pig, & Turtle.

Great minds think alike! Together the animals create the perfect gift for turtle. Good addition to season stories, too.

A quick, fun, easy read. Molly the mouse is cute and a little frustrated, but then is able to create something great with her ideas, and the ideas of her friends.

Gorbachev's stories and illustrations make me feel peaceful. Plus, my son and I love reading about a heroine named Molly!
