I really kind of hated this book. I only finished it because it was the last of the series and I was already so far in... but this was easily the worst of an already so-so series about Garnet Lacey. This is it. The final Garnet Lacey book. While I feel great sadness, I am also quite pleased with the way Tate finished off the series. It's well worth the read and if you liked the previous books, you'll enjoy this one as well.

I found it rather bizarre reading this novel that my own thoughts about the lead character, Garnet Lacey, were mirrored by the character herself. Chiefly something along the lines of "I am not a nice person and therefore when I asked for help from any Goddess who chose to listen that's why I ended up with the Queen of Hell deciding to come share my body." The final book in the Garnet Lacy series finds Garnet and Sebastian on their honeymoon. The plan is to fly from Minneapolis/St Paul to Austria for their honeymoon, but Garnet sees the Frost Giant, Fonn, sitting on the wing of plane. Disappointing ending to a series I liked a lot at the beginning. Most of what's good about the series (the supporting cast, the love triangle, the fun setting of the occult bookshop and attached coffee shop, etc) is missing since the whole book takes place away from Madison and we're just with the main character (Garnet) and her husband in Minnesota. I wanted more of a wrap up of everyone. What's going on with Daniel Parrish and the crazy wife? They say he's back and then never go back to that story? There was too many new characters (Larkin, Vampire Hunters, etc...) When if it was the last book, give us as much as you can about the character...more

I started reading it and had to stop at page 52. In the movie 9 1/2 weeks, Mickey Rourke (who was really hot back then!) makes Kim Basinger do a strip tease to "You can leave your hat on" a slow sexy song by Joe Cocker.

I'm having a hard time wanting to read this book. I miss the characters from the other books and this one seems so out of character from the other ones. I dunno. I am about a third of the way through and am not impressed just yet. Maybe around the middle it will get better. The first 4 kept me wanting to read more and more. This one? A fun trip with witchy Garnet through her no-go honeymoon in winter Minnesota. I loved Garnet's struggle to figure out which goddess to keep- Lilith, mother of Demons or Athena, warrior priestess. The plot is engaging with plenty of cool action. My complaint: not enough Sebastian, also not enough of the secondary characters. Since this is the last book, I would have appreciated more resolution.
A nice visit with "old friends," but lacking compared to earlier books in the series. I was never sure if the main plot was being stuck and trying to get out of the Twin Cities, the people "hunting" them (and, um... why?), trying to come to terms with her past, or the two goddesses battling for control of her. Loved the Cities details, having lived here for 14 years, and the descriptions of Minnesotan personality.

I am sad that this is the last Garnet book. I really enjoy her as a character. Plus I don't believe the end of this book wrapped up the series enough for me. I have a lot of questions about the future of Garnet and Sebastian. But I guess they did somewhat get settled down. This story was a little less intense then others before it and felt a it disjointed, but I do like how more sure of herself Garnet has become and how she realized who she wanted to be, Goddess wise. To be honest, by the time this fifth book rolled around, I was not too into this series. This book however was the perfect ending and it made me realise the main plot of the story was meant to be about Garnet making peace with Lillith. I loved this book but I am glad it's over.
Nicely done conclusion to the Garnet Lacey series. Garnet and Sebastian are headed to Austria for their honeymoon. The appearance of a Frost Giant spurs them to leave the plane. Chaos insues. Garnet finally comes to term with her goddess and her former life. 4 stars

This was a wonderful ending to the series. I am sad to say goodbye to Sebastian, he wasn't my favorite male lead thus far in a series. There were trolls, exes, room mating Goddesses, and so much more. I adored this series from start to finish!
What was fun in the beginning, became a chore to read by the end. By beginning I mean beginning of the series. By the time I got to this book, I was pretty much done with the series, but couldn't stop until finished.

This seems like a book I would have liked, but I came into without reading the previous ones so I'm sure I missed a lot. I never really got into it. I'll check the library for the earlier books and maybe try again later.

Really blah ending to the series. I'm sad that this was the last book and that we weren't left with much in terms of closure. A lot of the issues between Sebastian and Garnet aren't really resolved and overally it was just a really dull ending.
This is a great series to read for the summer. Even though I have not read them in order I found them easy to read and understand, and I can't wait to get the rest of them to read.

I was disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the rest of the series more than this book. Some things were wrapped up, but others were left hanging. I was dissatisfied with the way some things were concluded.
What a great end to a series! Ms Hallaway wraps it up beautifully! There is action, which is a common thing for Garnet. Garnet also comes to terms and finally accepts Lilith. The characters are rich and full of life. The one thing I wish Ms Hallaway would have done is included more of Sebastian in the series. He always seems to be MIA from the story and only is included here and there. He is a great character and him and Garnet blend well together. But all in all a great book. I will miss readin...more

The last book of the Garnet Lacey series! Hallaway manages to be cliche in a non-average way (yes I'm aware that that makes no sense) that you just can't help but smile at.
