I really kind of hated this book. I only finished it because it was the last of the series and I was already so far in... but this was easily the worst of an already so-so series about Garnet Lacey. This last installment was a complete departure from the formula of the first four, taking the main characters completely away from their home base (and largely ignoring supporting characters that kept me interested up to now). There's a huge focus on the setting, with long, drawn out descriptions of...more
This is it. The final Garnet Lacey book. While I feel great sadness, I am also quite pleased with the way Tate finished off the series. It's well worth the read and if you liked the previous books, you'll enjoy this one as well.
Let's talk for a moment about the cover, however. The covers of the previous books clearly show Garnet in what we learn is one particular scene in the book in question. This one? Not. At. All. First, the woman is not Garnet. No way, no how. She has long brown hair done in...more

I found it rather bizarre reading this novel that my own thoughts about the lead character, Garnet Lacey, were mirrored by the character herself. Chiefly something along the lines of "I am not a nice person and therefore when I asked for help from any Goddess who chose to listen that's why I ended up with the Queen of Hell deciding to come share my body." (And then I will act really ungratefully and consider ditching her for Athena.) Even more bizarrely many of the guys within the series fall in...more

The final book in the Garnet Lacy series finds Garnet and Sebastian on their honeymoon. The plan is to fly from Minneapolis/St Paul to Austria for their honeymoon, but Garnet sees the Frost Giant, Fonn, sitting on the wing of plane. No one else can see him and her reaction causes the two of them to be removed from the plane, separated and investigated by the FBI.
Garnet is interviewed by her FBI friend, Gabriel Dominguez (who we met in the first book, Tall, Dark and Dead) and Sebastian is intervi...more

Disappointing ending to a series I liked a lot at the beginning. Most of what's good about the series (the supporting cast, the love triangle, the fun setting of the occult bookshop and attached coffee shop, etc) is missing since the whole book takes place away from Madison and we're just with the main character (Garnet) and her husband in Minnesota. Fortunately, we get a few chapters with a couple supporting characters at the end, but it's a shame this series ended where it did when I would hav...more
With Garnet and Sebastian finally married they are supposed to be jetting off on their honeymoon but with trouble attracted to Garnet like a magnet things don't go quite to plan. Their plane is unable to take off due to a frost demon looking for revenge and the couple find themselves stuck in Minneapolis. Determined to make the best of things Garnet wants to share the favorite haunts from her old stomping ground with Sebastian. However with 2 Goddesses fighting for control of her body she is suf...more
For the very last Garnet book, I was disappointed. :(
Honestly, this is trivial, but who is that on the cover of the book? It's not Garnet that's for sure. It's like this is the wrong cover for the book?
I wanted more of a wrap up of everyone. What's going on with Daniel Parrish and the crazy wife? They say he's back and then never go back to that story? There was too many new characters (Larkin, Vampire Hunters, etc...) When if it was the last book, give us as much as you can about the character...more

I started reading it and had to stop at page 52. In the movie 9 1/2 weeks, Mickey Rourke (who was really hot back then!) makes Kim Basinger do a strip tease to "You can leave your hat on" a slow sexy song by Joe Cocker.
Well, in this awful book, the guy strips to "take your hat off"! Right tune, wrong title.
"Honeymoon" is a very bad mishmash of every other PNR book we've ever read. The "heroine" is a witch who just happens to have 2, yes 2, goddesses residing in her. And, her wedding to her vam...more

I'm having a hard time wanting to read this book. I miss the characters from the other books and this one seems so out of character from the other ones. I dunno. I am about a third of the way through and am not impressed just yet. Maybe around the middle it will get better. The first 4 kept me wanting to read more and more. This one? I keep putting down to go off and do other things. I remember doing this the first time I read it. Tate Hallaway probably should have stopped with the previous stor...more
In this last book in the Garnet Lacey series by Tate Hallaway, Garnet and her vampire husband, Sebastian are off on their honeymoon..or are they? Of course, trouble always seems to find our Wiccan friend and this book is no exception. From the start, Garnet sensed something is just not right. Of course, her senses are accurate. Facing all kinds of Gods in disguise, a kidnapping, and trouble fomr The FBI, garnet also faces the decision of whether to release the Goddess Lillith once and for all. T...more
A fun trip with witchy Garnet through her no-go honeymoon in winter Minnesota. I loved Garnet's struggle to figure out which goddess to keep- Lilith, mother of Demons or Athena, warrior priestess. The plot is engaging with plenty of cool action. My complaint: not enough Sebastian, also not enough of the secondary characters. Since this is the last book, I would have appreciated more resolution.
A nice visit with "old friends," but lacking compared to earlier books in the series. I was never sure if the main plot was being stuck and trying to get out of the Twin Cities, the people "hunting" them (and, um... why?), trying to come to terms with her past, or the two goddesses battling for control of her. Loved the Cities details, having lived here for 14 years, and the descriptions of Minnesotan personality.

Tate Hallaway- Honeymoon of the Dead
Fans of Gerry Bartlet will LOVE "Honeymoon of the Dead." The characters are delightful and easy to picture. Tate Hallaway weaves the real life current events of today into her book, which I liked.
You will fall in love with Garnet and her and her internal challenge of carrying two goddesses within her. She must choose which Goddess to keep. Will she choose The Dark Goddess Lillith or Athena the helpful savor Goddess. Pick up this great book, and find out what...more

Another 5 stars book of the Garnet Lacey serie!
I really love this serie! Full of action and sexy scenes of Garnet and Sebastian.
Looking forward to read more....
I am sad that this is the last Garnet book. I really enjoy her as a character. Plus I don't believe the end of this book wrapped up the series enough for me. I have a lot of questions about the future of Garnet and Sebastian. But I guess they did somewhat get settled down. This story was a little less intense then others before it and felt a it disjointed, but I do like how more sure of herself Garnet has become and how she realized who she wanted to be, Goddess wise. Sebastian, in his ever-suff...more

This was a wonderful ending to the series. I am sad to say goodbye to Sebastian, he wasn't my favorite male lead thus far in a series. There were trolls, exes, room mating Goddesses, and so much more. I adored this series from start to finish!
What was fun in the beginning, became a chore to read by the end. By beginning I mean beginning of the series. By the time I got to this book, I was pretty much done with the series, but couldn't stop until finished.
I loved this series, but it just lost my interest last book and this one did nothing to recapture it. It was full, and I mean FULL of Garnets inner relfections of herself and her life before Lilith and which Goddess she should keep. On and on and on and on.....it went till I was ser...more

Another Garnet Lacy story... Poor woman finds trouble every where she goes... lol
I must admit Tate Hallaway did some nice bedroom scenes in this book. Any who, the book was a nice read but not my favorite out of the series. It was just too much ! I wanted a story more about Sabastian and Garnet, NOT Monsters, Illuminati, & kidnapping ex boyfriends... I was disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the rest of the series more than this book. Some things were wrapped up, but others were left hanging. I was dissatisfied with the way some things were concluded.
What a great end to a series! Ms Hallaway wraps it up beautifully! There is action, which is a common thing for Garnet. Garnet also comes to terms and finally accepts Lilith. The characters are rich and full of life. The one thing I wish Ms Hallaway would have done is included more of Sebastian in the series. He always seems to be MIA from the story and only is included here and there. He is a great character and him and Garnet blend well together. But all in all a great book. I will miss readin...more

The last book of the Garnet Lacey series! Hallaway manages to be cliche in a non-average way (yes I'm aware that that makes no sense) that you just can't help but smile at. Perky, self-serving, eco-friendly blonde witch becomes sole survivor after witch hunters attack! Said witch hosts Lilith at mass murder party, resulting in move and goth cosmetic changes! Goth fakes death, finds Vampire soul mate, buys New Age store, outmaneuvers fellow Gods/Goddesses & becomes Demigod after realizing her...more
