Do you know anyone who has a little sibling who causes mishap a lot? The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is a good book about a young boy who seems bad, but really isn't. He hangs out with a boy named Huck Finn when he's not supposed to. Tom runs away with Huck a lot, but one night they witness something bad. They get really scared...more

Can't believe I've never read this before. I believe it was probably pulled from the reading lists because of the n-word usage and other language and activities that are now deemed offensive or inappropriate. But the book is written well from a young boy's perspective. I like all Mark Train's writings. He was a funny guy.

This is not the same edition. This copy is in my collection.
I read this while camping on the banks of the Mississippi River at Pike's Peak in Iowa! I had read it before, of course. Always enjoyable.

Tom Sawyer is a mischievous boy who gets into trouble a lot, and is in love with a girl named Becky. His best friend nicknamed Finn if i'm not mistaken goes on great adventures with Tom. Read and find out!

I know this book is a "classic" and all, but I gotta be truthful to y'all. I did NOT like it. The dialect was just sooo hard to understand! But, i think if I could decipher it, I would enjoy it.

I went to see a play of Tom Sawyer with my parents last summer and saw the author there. I really loved the play so I wanted to read the book too.

This was one of the books that I read several times to my kids while homeschooling. We all loved it and Huckleberry Finn.

This novel at first glance may seen to be very childish. Mature people do not like to read this funny and venturesome novel, whose main characters are Tom, Huck, Becky, etc. However, the interesting lesson that we could draw out from this novel is that: Experience and adventure help us to be fully alive for we could feel our adrenaline stimulating us to be passionate. There is no substitute for Experience. Thus reading should not take away this aspect in our life. Reading should complement our e...more

If you want to relax, this book is a good choice. The way as well as the vocabularies the author wrote the story are pretty simple and easy to understand. I think the boys in the story are cute, the way they think, the way the speak and even the way Tom Sawyer "shows his talent to catch the girl's attention" is naughty! I think this book is great for the beginners.

I just watched an awesome show about the life of Mark Twain. I knew he was a literary giant, but I didn't know he was so interesting...anyway, it made me want to revisit Tom and Huck...and I feel silly having not read any of his other books, so I guess I should read those too.

Fun abridged version of Tom Sawyer. I've never actually read the unabridged version, I've only ever seen the Disney movie, "Huck." Reading this is fun tale of a mischievious boy makes me grateful he doesn't live under my roof - only in the form of imagination.

I learned Tom and Huck went pirating and they went in a haunted house looking for treasure. They didn't find it because it was in the cave. I liked Tom because he looked for treasure and I love treasure. I didn't like that he beat up a new kid.
Hawkeye
this is about a kid seeking to find a treasure. he has to get a map from injun joe to find it. then he finally gets the treasure, because injun joe starved to death.

It was so cool. Even though it is an adapted version it is funny and cool. Though I didn't like Hucleberry Fin as much as Tom Sawyer. I recomend it strongly.
