Thomas Rathsack embodies all the characteristics of the consummate soldier, one as humble as he is deadly. His story is that of Denmark's elite Jaeger Corps - one of several of the U.S.'s unsung European allies in the GWOT that did respectable work in-theater, but quietly and without ostentation or fanfare. He speaks plainly, without pretense or arrogance, despite the fact that his stories of his time as a soldier and NGO minesweeper are truly awe-inspiring and worthy of deference.

This was actually an interesting read.

I read while I was in the army, and it felt so true. Which was an nice break, from the stupid shit we where doing at the time..

So, does the writer reflect on the perils of being in war, of being isolated, without enough food and water, about being in danger? No, not at all.

Does that make it a bad book?

Not necessarily. It`s a little shallow, and self-centered - but still it`s an good bok. And it`s easy to read. I liked it. And in the end, that is all it is

God bog.

Bemærk at man kan hente en pdf-udgave at Politikens oprindelige publicering:

Good read

Thoroughly enjoyed discovering how the Danish special forces are organized and the daily routine of the members. The Jaeger s are much more down to earth then the British SOG or the American Special Forces, thus making the Jaeger more believable. I would consider it a real honor to meet one of these people.

Good book

The book was good and a quick read. It wasn't the most interesting, but wasn't really boring either. Just not much exciting occurred ( that he can talk about - I hope ) and not many interesting and funny stories outside of his couple missions.

The most memorable portion of this book in my opinion is the last chapter about the drama during publication.

Alt i alt rigtigt spændene læsning!

Interesting and honest book about Thomas experience as a Jaeger. Similar to the book Bravo Two Zero by Andy McNab.
I give it 3.5 out of five.
