So specific to the High Country. Tells the story of a young lady coming of age in Watauga County, NC. For someone learning their way around the High Country, this book helped me to ease in and fall more in more in love with the Mountain way of life
Read this book for my young adult literature class. While it's not one of my favorites, the story is engaging and believable. Set in Boone, NC, it tells the story of 14 year old Loren/Lorne as she strikes out on her own after her mother dies. Along the way, she makes new friends and learns a lot about herself and being an adult.
It was good. It was interesting to read about boone nc
