WOW! I love the way Christine Warren writes and I'm a HUGE fan of her "Others" series. "Walk on the Wild Side" is the 5th book and this time she serves us a wicked hot helping of werelion, or as they prefer Leos. If you've missed out, here are the other books in order in this series: "Wolf at the Door", "She's No Faerie Princess", "The Demon You Know", and "Howl at the Moon". They're hot and they're supernatural.

Kitty was a perfectly normal 24-year-old farmgirl. She was raised by her grandparent

The 5th book in the Others series, is going down as one of my faves in the series. What we know is that The Others, vampires, shifters, Fey etc; have made their come out to the human world. The storm has calmed down and humans are slowly coming to terms with that, they are things that go bump in the night. While this series has its ups and downs, this was definitely an up for me.

Kitty Sugarman is having a bad night. She gets hurt in a car wreck and all of a sudden s

This was a pretty good book. I can't believe I have never found this series before. It is a paranormal one and usually I am all over them. It had a good amount of alpha male and sexual tension to keep me going. And the whole "mate" thing gets me everytime.

I believe this was the 5th book in the series and I will go start back at the beginning. This is a standalone book however it would have been helpful to know some more details about "The Others" before reading it. I guess they had a revealing i

Nope, this one didn't work for me. I really, really disliked the female lead... fine I HATE her... She finds out that she is half leo, she randomly shifts, so she decides to take a trip to meet her biological father. Her plan is to go there, yell at him, tell him how he is a terrible person for leaving a child alone, know that one day she would shift into a lion.. okay well I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same way. My problem is that when she gets there and realized that he is dying, she does none ...more

I read it all in 2 days! It is really good and worth reading. I respected Kitty and her southern quality and found that Max (or Marcus) had a lot strength and even had a soft spot for what was important to him. Surprise ending though!!

This is the best one of her books so far. The Others have Unveiled their existence to humans and it's been more than a year. It doesn't really have much of an impact on assistant librarian (true to the stereotype, she doesn't get out much)Kitty Sugarman in rural Tennessee. That is until she gets in a car wreck and the panic and adrenaline makes he shift into lionness form. She discovers she's half Other and goes to Las Vegas to meet her father who is the Felix of his Pride and is dying.

My rating on this book of Christine's is Hot Hot Smokin Hot. I loved this one. The best so far... I couldn't put it down. I loved Marcus, yummy so Alpha. But he doesn't want to scare off Kitty who has come to Las Vegas to meet her real father who just happens to head the pride of Leos that Marcus is in.
Kitty finds out that she is not just a human during a car accident, when she unexpectantly changes into a lion. Her mother has to confess that her father is a werelion therefore Kitty is a halfbree
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Definitely in second for best in the series so far!Just behind Big Bad Wolf lol ;)
Max was so insanely hot!!! He was so strong and big and dominant and so sexy! I loved how tough and powerful he was and how he was always so protective over Kitty (though perhaps at times a little too much), but he was so possessive over her, it just added to his deliciousness lol ;)
The sexy scenes were fantastic, despite how long it took to get to the first one and that there was only two i

This is another great installment of Christine Warren's Others Series..

In this book we meet Kitty whom up until a couple of weeks ago thought she was human, through and through. She has a mother who's plans have never included a child,a father who she never knew and is dead, and grandparents whom were all the parents she ever truely needed. So when she gets furry and shifts into a 350lb African Lioness, to say that she was suprised is a gross understatement. So, she is finally told whats up, and

1.5. Harsh laugh. Where to start. So first off, we have a young man wandering around sowing his wild oats, knowing full well that his dipping in any watering hole will trigger said hole's fertility, and hanging around long enough for an oat to take root, then...leaving a 16 year old girl pregnant with a half Leo?!

That's the setup.

Kitty is an average, 24yr old, young southern librarian who realizes her life isn't so average when a tragic car accident causes her to shift into a lion or “Leo Other”. Never knowing her presumed dead father was a Leo, Kitty’s normal human life has just been sent into a tailspin. Kitty’s grandfather, the only father figure Kitty has ever known, tells her that not only is her father alive but also the leader of the Los Vegas Leo Pride. Shocked with this new and frightening side herself, Kitty ac ...more

Trapped in a car wreck with her mother, desperate to escape before the car exploded, Kitty "unconsciously" triggered her Change and turned into a genuine Big Cat!
So when her mother admitted that her father is actually alive and living in Las Vegas, Kitty decided to go see him and get some training on how to control her inner lioness.

Landing in Las Vegas, Kitty promptly walked into a day-time soap opera, with a rich and dying patriarch (her father, the Pride leader), his scorned ex-wife together

Very enjoyable story of a young woman, Kitty, who learns she's a shifter, has a father who is the Felix of a pride of shifter lions who is dying and several hostile, possibly homicidal relatives who don't want her around. She also meets her father's second in command, Max, who she finds overbearing but also reassuring and incredibly attractive. The chemistry between Kitty and Max is great as Kitty learns to master her ability to shift and figure out how to fit into the shifter world, if she even ...more

Some of the books in this series haven't grabbed me at all, but Walk on the Wild Side isn't one of them. Kitty and Max's(Marcus) story is well worth the read. Kitty has no experience with the Others, but when she finds out her father was one, and she has the chance to meet her father, she takes it. But her father's ex wife and children aren't happy about the situation.

absolutely amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing !

Marcus is the definition of the word "gentleman" >>> he is just so so so caring and at the same time he is an Alpha male and that combination is the best.Ever

Now Kitty is such an amazing heroine and a strong one which i liked the only thing i regret is her not having mourned her father's death probably and that she didn't get the time to get to know him better because he sounds so lovi
A novel of the "Others" series, set elsewhere than NYC, and set apart from the usual suspects.
Kitty believes all of her life that she is human until she suddenly shifts to a lioness at a time of helpless fear. Everything she thought she knew is upside down, and her grandfather convinces her to accept the invitation to visit the father she thought was dead so that she can learn about her new abilities.

Kitty Sugarman has one weird and bad night, she gets into a car wreck with her mother but when she got her mother out of the car she finds her self as a lion. She is sent to her father in Vegas to understand and to learn what she is but she finds Marcus Stewart the prides baas or second of command under her father because he is very ill. Loved the premise. The story itself was a bit annoying here and there. I can't understand why Max didn't assign a body guard to her right off the bat. There were many obvious things that Max and her father could have done to insure her safety but didn't, probably so the story would go the way it did. But it strained my 'Suspension of disbelief' that these 'smart' business men could be so obtuse and gullible. Then the ending was super sappy with plenty of moralizing blah blah blah... Christine Warren is one of my favorite authors for the Paranormal Romances. Sure there's a lot of fun parts but the story as a whole is always absorbing and magical. Never fails in any of her books! I'm working on getting through the entire "Other's" series. Kitty is thrown into a new world after a car accident triggers her shifter abilities. She learns about her absent biological father and searches for him to get some answers. She goes to tell him off, but ends up finding more than just answer ...more
This one was rather long, took me a couple of days to get through it. It was a good book but I figure there could have been more attacks, close up instead of shootings from afar.

The book was alright, I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it. I wonder if it’s because it’s completely new characters with not even a mention of the others that we’ve come to know and love.

The two typos that did happen in this story were a little more confusing because it had her when it meant his. It especially was confu

I liked almost everything about this story.

The main character Kitty is kind of a moron. Five near-death incidents are apparently coincidences. Your spoiled rotten half-siblings won't mind finding out you're the lost heir to their multimillionaire father. Normal people get shot at all the time in Vegas. Sure, maybe in Kittyland. It was difficult to like her for the first part of the book. She was rude and scared and painfully ignorant while being stubborn and insulting. Her character development

This is the first of Ms. Warren's books in this series that have dealt with Others away from New York. These others are lion shifters. I liked the setup for the story and the follow up. Kitty drew me in and made me like her from the very first. She is a strong and intelligent woman that has made the best of a mother that wasn't there for her most of the time and a father that left before she was born. Kitty isn't bitter, for the most part, she has a very southern outlook on life. Ms. Warren's wa ...more

Kitty Sugarman just found out she's a were-lion, courtesy of the father she's never met. Now she's to go to Las Vegas to meet him, but more importantly to learn to control her shifting so she doesn't hurt someone.
Max Stuart is Martin Lowe's (Kitty's biological father)second in command. The baas to his Felix. He's sent to pick Kitty up at the airport and finds her in the restroom in her lioness form with a would-be assassin. Obviously someone doesn't want Kitty to meet Martin. As the story progre

To be honest I didn't finish this one. The book is about 330 pages long, I made it through about 290. That was the point when I realized I didn't care even the faintest amount what happened next and was probably wasting my time forcing myslef to continue. So this review is based on the first 90% of the book.

To begin, I've been on the fence about this series since I started it. For the most part I rated the first four novels (I have not read any of the E-books) as average--good premises, decent c

Another terrific book in the continuing tale of the Others. Set almost a year after the coming out, Kitty Sugarman is in for a big surprise.

After a horrifying car accident, Kitty Sugarman (ironically named) shifts into a Leo, the lion form of a werewolf (aka a werelion). She's scared and needs answers. NOW.

Her mother finally admits to her that her father isn't dead like she had been told, and he lives in Las Vegas. So Kitty hops aboard a flight and heads west looking for the answers to why she t

When Kitty Sugarman travels to Las Vegas to see her father for the first time in 24 years, she wasn't expecting to fall in love. Max Stewart, her father's second in command, falls instantly in love with her and follows her around like a puppy kitty cat (they are lion shifters after all). Unfortunately her fathers new family isn't as happy to see her. The attempts on her life start in the airport and continue unceasing.

I immediately liked Max. His inner dialogue was totally hysterical.

Kitty is in a car accident with her mother (Misty) and she is trapped inthe wreckage and fire is starting then suddenly she is out of the car and so is her mother and she has 4 feet and TAIL!!!

Life used to be comfortable for Kitty Sugarman until she found out that her father was a shifter... a loin shifter.

To learn how to control the beast she goes to visit him.... not realising that he is one of the ricest men in Las Vegas and his second in command is a commanding and domineering man called Max
