Another children's book on the digestive system for my comparative nonfiction project. This one is in the "Disgusting Body Facts" series from Raintree and is aptly named "Puke and Poo." Personal response:
The book is informational and geared towards younger children. It is simple to understand and also provide images to convey the information. This book is pretty gross (there is a picture of actual puke!), but it is also very informative. It covers why we burp and fart, how we make poo, the process of digestion and what makes us puke. There are lots of great pictures including an x-ray of the large intestines with poo in them. Fascinating stuff!

I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do s
