What do you get when you combine an eleven-year-old girl whose father makes a living selling stuff from dead people’s homes, a mysterious pair of glasses from a dead seer that lets her “see” ghosts, pirates from the past and a centuries old legend? You get a rollicking good story full of fun, mystery, pirates, ghosts, and adventure.

The title of the book I'm reading is named Misty Gordon and the mystery of the ghost pirates. The authors name is Kim Wendy. But my opinion of the book would be a well written because when it would describe the way a person looks or a setting of the story you could paint the picture in you mined as you read.

Fun book for kids that involves a mystery of a coastal town whose claim to fame is a shipwreck that carried treasure to the new world but didn't make it. Misty's parents run a business that buys furniture and stuff after someone passes away so her house is filled with cast off junk the family can't sell in their antique store. A seance table, runaway fur coat and glasses that let her see ghosts help Misty solve the riddle and save the town.

Cute read for middle grade readers. I fell in love with all the oddballs of Misty's hometown, and I loved the way the author maintained a tone of mystery throughout the whole book without it being hit over your heard. The mystery itself was interesting, although it's less "pirate-y" than I guess from the title itself.
Overall a book I would recommend to those who love mysteries or someone who was looking for something different.

This was a cute read and is good for around grade 4-5 reading level. However, I felt like there were too many concepts being fit into it, but that could be just because it was the first in the series so a lot of information needed to be given. I liked the sequel set up; it wasn't as "in your face" as I'm used to coming across, which was nice.

Cute story, probably geared toward a middle-schooler or an advanced lower-grade reader. There's humor in there, which keeps you reading, and the mystery is neat, too. Could be the first book in a series, if the author kept writing. Misty and Yoshi are interesting characters and the sort you'd expect to find themselves in another similar situation in the future. I'd read a 2nd volume.

I love a good mystery, but if there is humor mixed in, I love it double! From page one, I was engrossed in the lives of Misty and her oddball family (I love her dad!). This has the feel of a Sherlock Holmes and the pace and wit of Roald Dahl. If you love delicious villains, then you'll love this book.

Misty Gordon is an eleven year old girl whose father rides around in a van with D.E.A.D on the side looking for deceased estate owners possession that he can sell in his antique shop. When Misty decides to tag along on one of his pickups little does she know what mystery she will become entangled in. With the help of her friend Yoshi, a pair of cat eye glasses, a hypno clock and Madame Zaster's seance table maybe she will be able to unwrap the mystery of the Golden Three. I really enjoyed this

This isn't great literature by any means, but it's a fast-paced adventure that I think kids will enjoy. A little spooky, too.

Enjoyable read. A good start to a new (hopefully) series of mysteries for middle grade readers.
