I found Karen's story interesting, though I question the huge amount of food she claims to have been eating when she weighed 300 lbs. She must have an amazing metabolism if she was eating entire bags of Oreos, half of a pizza, etc. every day! She is an engaging writer, so I finished the book, but she has some odd ideas about nutrition. She says she avoids cauliflower because it's high in carbohydrates and bananas because they're high in protein. She eschews peanut butter (a good fat) for lowfat ...more

Picked this book up at a local bookshop. Since I'm motivated to start my own weight loss journey I thought I check this out. Her story is interesting, all I got out of it was poor pity overweight Karen that lost the weight and had her sagging skin cut off. Her relationship struggles and fertility problems etc.

Though her story was good I would have liked a bit more in depth on how she lost the weight.

The author is enthusiastic and I can't help but rejoice with her for the success she's achieved in reaching her goals. Good basic principles of positive reinforcement are used in this book. It wouldn't be my go-to book of weight loss, but there is good to be gleaned from its pages.
