A light (and a must-)read for everyone living in this busy life.

Reading this book isolated me from the world around me. Ethar's beautiful and graceful style took me to Tarim where I lived the experience with her and felt the same sadness she felt when I reached the end of the book, or let's say, the journey.

An honest, thoughtful journal--I would have never thought of visiting Yemen before reading this diary, and now I so anxiously want to be a part of the Dowra program, inshAllah and experience a bit of what the author experienced. This book is basically the actual journal of a young woman who jots down her thoughts every day on a 40 day intensive spiritual retreat in Tarim, Yemen. I really like it. It's not a literature masterpiece and is not supposed to be: it's simple and thoughtful at a level that is anyone can easily relate to. I especially liked the quotes that she included from various teachers she learnt from as well as the photos that she took of different things and places that she saw.
