Beware the Were-puppy
A cute young werepup, owned by a not-cute old wizard is Max's next job. Fang, while a bit of an odd name, seems cuddly enough. Max's main priority is to make sure Fang gets his walks, but secretly as pets are not allowed in the wizard's apartment block. Max has everything under control until on one secret walk the clouds part and a full moon pops out.

Max's latest pet-sitting job is for a cute little puppy named Fang. However, after Ned, Fang's unusual owner, leaves things start to get a bit crazy. Dodging Mrs. Crab and avoiding full moons leave Max with a bigger job than he thought! With black and white illustrations throughout as well as new vocabulary, this would be a good early reader for a more advanced student. This story has a lot of humor and personality to it and will entertain kids the whole way through!
I found this story quite silly. Young readers might like its antics or this book just might be stranded on a shelf. Max puppysits a wizard's new pup. The apartment complex doesn't allow pets, so Max is told to sneak the werepup in and out without getting caught by Mrs. Crab. If the werepup sees the moon, it changes into a werewolf.

My second grader really enjoyed it. Has black and white pictures mixed throughout which helps hold the interest of younger chapter book readers and listeners.
