I didn’t realize going into this book that I had read two of the earlier books in the series years ago. But as I was reading I started to feel a weird sense of déjà vu. Vampire Knights of the Round Table? Direkind? Haven’t I read this before? What cinched it was when the king of the faeries, Llyr, and his queen, Diana, were mentioned. Ah hah! I know I’ve read about them. And I had. I’d read Master of the Night and Master of the Moon back when I wasn’t logging any of my read books. That’ll teach ...more
I thought that Master of Smoke was a Fantastic story. I still have no idea where Angela comes up with all the imagination she uses in her book's but I hope she continues to find it. The magic used in this story was outstanding. I loved how they could gate to different exotic places and different worlds.
The romance in this book was very good. You could feel the feelings that the H&h had for each other. They fought against all odds to keep each other safe. There was also a lot of action in thi

So when I picked this up, I had no idea it was a part of a series. Yeah, IDK, I guess I didn't bother to read the back or something lol

Regardless, I have to say, that even though I had moments of confusion, it worked pretty well as a standalone. Rather than scratching my head and saying "WTF?!" through much of the story, as with some other late-entry series additions from other authors (I'm lookin at you, J.R. Ward), I think AK did a great job of giving just enough information to allow new read

Great addition to the series. Smoke was a great character and Eve was a good heroine. The book kept me interested from start to finish and I can't wait for the next book, Master of Shadows.

First of all, WTF does Mwwwwhahahah mean? The author used it 3 times on one page. Secondly, the cover photo didn't look anything like the hero. Smoke has waist-length black hair not short hair. Someone obviously didn't read the first chapter of this book.

This is unlike any shifter novel I've read. Smoke (hero) has three distinct personalities - amnesia boy (David), Smoke (demi-god, warrior), and Cat (shifter). He's more like a schizophrenic than a shifter which was very disconcerting for Eva, ou

Fans who enjoy the Mageverse series will want to read this newest installment. It reveals a lot about Smoke’s history.

In this story Smoke, a being of tremendous power, is being attacked by an evil shifter named Warlock. Warlock wants to strip Smoke of his powers and use them to create his own ‘new’ world.

Eva was recently turned a werewolf. With her super strength, she now has a bit of a super hero complex. When she sees a

Not my favorite in the series, but it was good and the sex scenes were well done (as always and let's face it, that was why I read it - insert a blush here). What I like about this series is that she is always testing the limits. I do think I would have liked it better if some things had been done differently (sex with the character she couldn't bring herself to because he wasn't David enough as an example). I like that there are 2 more stories woven into the mix just waiting to be told. The wri ...more

Basically, Wolf (Eve/Fluffy) meets Cat (shifter/god/David). Cat is naked. Wolf likes what she sees in naked Cat and offers to help him. Cat doesn't remember who he his.

Insert villain (Warlock). Warlock stole Cat's powers and is trying to keep them for his own, but Cat managed to escape before the process could fully take.

While hiding from his enemies, Cat gets attached to Wolf and a sexual relationship quickly (too fast for me) ensues.

I though it was creepy how David/Cat/God seemed to communica
Ya know, I've come to realize that I really enjoy this series; even though I am usually not fond of stories centered around King Arthor/Roundtable knight and all that. But she really writes a unique, and even more important, very entertaining story about characters I really like. This book was a lot of fun; Eva and Smoke were great characters and I didn't really mind all the multiple personalties. And I gotta say am really looking forward to Belle and Tristan's story-can't wait! I hope Miranda e ...more

Eva discovers the man she eventually refers to as David being magically tortured by a werewolf. She doesn’t know exactly what’s going on but she knows that she needs to save this man. When David manages to get away from the werewolf Eva finds that he has no idea who he is, where he’s from, why his enemy is after him – zilch. What he does know is that Eva is the woman he wants and he’s not going to leave her. He’s not sure why he thinks that but he’s going with it.

Knight has taken her creative world of vampire knights and their majestic witch counterparts and recreated King Authors world in a lusciously inviting fantasy. The Mageverse is the realm in which he rules and where magic is a free flowing energy that is manipulated by the witches of his court. There are many interesting creations that pop in and out of his kingdom, such as our hero Smoke. Smoke liked to spend most of his time as a house cat and has wiggled his way into quite a few of Knights boo ...more
This is the eleventh mageverse novel. What I love about this series is that even though ten books have come before it, they are so skillfully written and plotted in a way that they could be read as stand alone novels. While all the books are connected to the bigger picture, there are so many pieces to the puzzle that you don't feel as if you are overwhelmed. Each book strongly focuses on the hero and heroine and their struggles, which I appreciate. While there are subplots they are so interrelat ...more

Master of Smoke pleasingly continues the Mageverse world. The characters are robust, physically and sexually. Eva Roman and David/Cat/Smoke are genuine and sturdy as they battle werewolf, Warlock, another strong though villainous character. The sexually liaisons are plentiful adding to an already energetic plot.

The plot suspenseful and fast paced as Warlock, a white werewolf, wreaks havoc upon the Magi with intending to rule them all. Smoke/Cat/David – a werecat with multiple personalities – has

Eleventh in the erotic Mageverse paranormal series. And eminently missable.

The Story
This particular installment focuses on the Dire Wolves with Warlock at their head as a semi-mythical godlike being either worshipped or believed to be a legend by the wolves. Initially created by Merlin to police the Mages, Warlock has gone round the bend and is paranoid with power and the gathering of more. At the moment, Warlock is focused on taking Smoke down, a god-cat-elf creature. Luckily for Smoke, Eva, a

I'll be honest I wasn't sure how I would like this book. It's not that I don't love Angela Knight's Mageverse but I wasn't sure how she'd pull this one off.

Smoke a demi-god shapeshifter just seemed too powerful for him to be a good hero, but Ms. Knight managed to bring him down to a very loveable hero with weaknesses that make the reader root for him and worry. With a stroke of brilliance she showed the three individual psyches that make Smoke the powerful demi-god he is: the elemental, the shif
The character of Smoke introduced during the previous novel was already one I had grown to admire and care for, so I was eager to learn what had happened to him after his devastating confrontation with Warlock at the end of Master of Fire. Eva Roman suffered initially from the imbalance of already being invested in the character Smoke and the urgency to learn his fate, but the untutored Dire Wolf comic book geek quickly grew on me. Learning that Smoke's body was home to three distinct but intert ...more

Angela Knight does it again. She continues to keep this series about the Magnaverse alive and well. Although it's sad that it will be coming to an end soon. So if you haven't been reading this series of her's what are you waiting for. There are vampires, Direwolfs, Dragons, Fae and all sorts of things that go bump in the night. In this one the main character Smoke loses his memory after a nasty encounter with a big bad. Luckily he's saved by an owner of a book store, that just happens to turn fu ...more

I honestly thought I would like this book more than I did. I am not sure what it was that didn't capture my attention like the other books in the series, but I struggled a bit to get through it. I was looking forward to a book on Smoke and I was left feeling less than satisfied.

One thing that bothered me was that there really wasn't much resolved by the end of the book. I realize that it is an ongoing series... but I like a bit more closure. I was taken off guard by the ending. I figur
David was formerly known as Smoke but has lost his memory. An enemy has sucked his memory and stolen his powers. Eva finds him and helps him. They have to fight the enemy known as Warlock but because of David/Smoke's memory loss do not know who they can trust.

I enjoyed this book very much, but it took a few chapters to get myself committed.
Without giving a spoiler alert, let me tell you why:
This book is over-flowing with world building and characters of all shapes and sizes. In the beginning, it was a bit convoluted, but then I admit I was hooked into it all when we were introduced to the Mageverse where Fantasy, Legend and Mythology collide.
I enjoyed the kick-butt heroine, who had a softer side~Eva Roman aka Fluffy.
I truly delighted in the devilish
Smoke was attacked at the end of the last book by Warlock, who stole all his Godpowers & most of his sidhe & cat powers.

At the beginning of this book he is rescued by Eva Roman, a bitten Dire Wolf, who doesn't know any other werewolves as she was attacked by a serial killer dire wolf 5 years previously.

Eva spends the book trying to save "David" as Smoke has lost his memories as well as his powers. And Smoke spends the book trying to save Eva and come up with a way to kill Warlock & g

I LOVE this story!! this is my second time reading Master of Smoke and I was just as thoroughly engrossed as the first time I read it. Smoke fascinated me when he first appeared and I was happy he got his own story (along with previews into Belle and Tristan story, then Miranda's!) I really like the lead up in the battle against Warlock, how It's drawn out and we get to learn more about his character and why he's the "villian" instead of protector Merlin intended him to be. The union of Eve and ...more
Well I have read Angela Knight for a long time and have read most if not all her published work and her short stories from her yahoo group. I must say that this was not my favorite by her. I thought it was an interesting concept and the characters being shifters were my favorite but it just didn't come together like some of her better work. I even got a little bored and drifted off in some points. I will keep reading her work and hope the next one is better. Every book can't always be good when ...more

Loved story of Smoke, the talking cat who is also a Sidhe warrior and ancient elemental, and Eva, a clerk in her father's comic book store who was bitten by werewolf serial killer Trey Devon. The good guys continue to battle Warlock, the ancient werewolf, who unlike most werewolves, can use magic. We are introduced to Tristan, former Knight of the Round Table and one of Arthur's vampires, and Belle, a court seducer for Avalon. The next Mageverse story, Master of Shadows, will be Belle and Trista ...more
Another enjoyable book in Angela Knight's Masters series. This one stars "Smokey" who has appeared in the past as a talking cat. He's been injured and looses his memory. Now to be nursed back to health and protected from those who still want to do him harm. Eva Roman is just the woman for the job, she's a werewolf, but untrained. I also enjoy how she treats Arthur of legend, keeping him around as a vampire, and the t'shirts she dresses him in. I think this novel had him in a Monty Python one.
It's been a while since I've read Angela Knight and this one reminded me why I loved it. Smoke appears in the novel before this one. He caught my attention more than the main characters at times although that novel was excellent as well. This one, however, pretty much rocked. It was sexy and exciting as well as funny and stuck to the major plot line without becoming redundant. I like it when authors I like try new things and this one was different enough to work well with her other novels.
Eva Roman was bitten by a werewolf 5 years ago, she finds herself turning furry and fanged after the attack ever since. She hides the fact from everyone. On the full moon she finds herself furry and rescuing a shifter who has no memory of who he is. Eva not knowing he is a sidhe warrior named Smoke starts calling him David. When David's attackers seem to keep coming back, his memory seem to come back in dreams. Now Eva and Smoke must fight his enemy's in order to survive.
