Claymore, Vol. 3 / 978-1421506203

I've actually watched the complete Claymore anime first before getting into the manga; I'm really liking the manga source material, as it rather closely follows the anime but has a few extra details and world-building information along the way. I definitely love the clean, crisp black-and-white artwork, but I am still having trouble with the right-to-left / back-to-front reading.

Volume 3 provides the following scenes:

Claymore: Teresa of the Faint Smile, Vol. 3 amps up the action and boy, oh boy, is it getting good. The beginning of the volume concludes Clare's time in Rabona. You nearly forget this part of the story because you will become so entranced with Teresa the moment she graces the pages and forget whatever else happened before she arrived.

Teresa is one badass chica. This Claymore has me completely fascinated. I hope to learn more of her story in the next volume. I love that Teresa's...more

A new addiction? I hope not. haha. I've finished three volumes in half a day. In this volume, Teresa, another silver eyed witch, a Claymore was introduced. She was also said to be the strongest woman and she had shown how much powerful she is when she had killed seven Yoma (monsters) in a very brief of time when she just arrived in a town she happened to passed by before her supposed to be mission.

At the end of the volume, with the child she named Claire, Teresa had shown a glimpse of her human...more

Yay! A Theresa volume!

This third novel in the Claymore series was, as always, full of action, violence, gore, and maybe just a little crying.

Okay, maybe a whole bunch. Damn that Raki. At least the Theresa and Clare scene is moving.

Considering I watched the anime before jumping into this series, there really isn't much I can say. I forgot a certain aspect to this plot line which made the manga much more moving for me, but otherwise (besides the awkward kiss thing) I knew the ups, downs, and all...more

Beautiful artistry and story telling and probably my favourite of the graphic novels so far!

Sees the conclusion of the Cathedral and then focuses on the first Claymore that Claire met... Teresa of the Faint Smile. The Teresa scenario is probably the most interesting and moving part of the Claymore tale and shows how Claire by her nature does not follow the Claymore stereotype.

This is the third volume of the Claymore series, and in it we get much more of Clare's history come to light. This is the book that introduces Teresa of the Faint Smile, the #1 ranked Claymore warrior, and which sets up the intertwined destinies of Clare and Teresa.

This story is getting more and more interesting the further into the series one gets. The character development and motivations are moving along fairly quickly at this point, and major plot points are being revealed. I'm really start...more

The first third of this volume concludes the fight that was left to us abruptly in #2. Clare and Raki's relationship is so sweet- I love them.

The rest of this volume introduces us to Teresa, and gives us Clare's history. The ending was so touching!! Teresa is such a badass...no wonder Clare is one too.

The manga stay true to the anime. This is the back story of Clare in Claymore. I'd love this part because we get to know Clare when she was a human back then. It gives Claymore a more touchy and sentimental feeling.

De nuevo queda patente la absoluta tristeza que encierran estas heroínas de fuerza sobrenatural. Que trasfondo tan triste para lo que debería ser simplemente una historia de aventuras.

Pleasantly surprised with the third volume of Claymore. I haven't been very into the series so far, but Vol. 3 is way more interesting and I'm actually looking forward to the next one.

So, we got the conclusion of the story began in Claymore, Volume 2, and the start of a flashback story between a human-Clare and the Claymore Teresa. It is a bit annoying that the story ends in mid-book -- I'd rather see either a larger, one-book on each story arc, or one story-arc split into two books. Plus, it makes finding arcs harder, since the text of the back of the book describes the end of the first story, not the beginning of the next.

That being said, I enjoyed the flashback story -- i...more

The art is still awfully stiff, but Teresa of the Faint Smile is pretty damn awesome. Oh, how I heart origin stories!

This volume starts off with Chapter 10: Darkness in Paradise part 6.
Clare and Raki are still in the Holy City, and have found the Yoma. The fight ensues, and Clare destroys it. Clare stumbles and feels that she has used to much of her yoma powers after the fight. On a split hair decision she decides to take her life while she still holds onto her human consciousness. You'll have to read to find out for yourself what happens.
Cheers and Happy Reading!

This book contains the end of book 2 and a prequel to the series. I really loved this new Claymore shs's cooler than Clare herself.

Interesting concept and storyline, but I'm not a huge fan of the artwork. However, I do like the introduction of Teresa.
