Too much of something is not good. That cliffhanger end with Yuki Kishima facing the blackmailer was too much for me to absorb. Kazuo Koike certainly has his perversions, eh? But in fairness with the author (who I have utmost respect in Lone Wolf and Cub), Lady Snowblood must accurately depict the culture of 19th century Japan, including weird perverted practices and obvious objectification of women.

On another note, Deep-Seated Grudge, part 2 fleshes out Yuki Kishima's origin story on how she be

The plot is much better and she uses her wits more than her sword now. The sexual situations are not intended to titillate nor arouse but rather to illustrate the character's depravity or ruthlessness(view spoiler).

It ends on a cliffhanger unlike the first book.

I have to admit that I'm not one to read stories on assassins but I've been reading a few of them lately and I have to say that I kinda like this one. Now that doesn't mean that this manga is a masterpiece or anything but this manga is more like one of my guilty pleasures like Dragon Knights.

The story is about a woman named Oyuki who is on a path of vengeance towards the ones who raped her mother and killed her family. Oyuki's skills as an assassin are unbelievable. She uses her reso

Recommends it for: 18+ Gore, sex, and mature content.
This second volume to the four-part Lady Snowblood manga series is filled with its usual episodic moments, but bring depth to the overall revenge plot as Oyuki begins to put in motion the efforts needed to find the remaining three people who destroyed her family.

This volume was a huge improvement to the first one, and really brought depth both to Oyuki's character and her motivations for revenge. While a lot of it was the typical episodic moments we saw in the first volume, it really brings out

Continues the story of Lady Snowblood's revenge with contrasting moments of incredible violence and depravity with beautiful artwork. More overtly sexual than the first volume. Yuki is a fascinating protagonist, disciplined and focused while still deplorable and sorrowful.

I really loved the cinematic feel of this manga, and the artwork is lovely. There's a bit too much in the way of sexual violence for my tastes, though; I get annoyed when a character is threatened with rape at every turn.

It really works as a manga. I don't think it will work as a novel though. The characters are flat and unmemorable.
