This book made me wonder if I read the same book that the 5-star reviewers did.

What dreck!

I am by no means squeamish. I lurve the trashy erotic romance, I do, and the hotter the better. Unfortunately, Passion wasn't hot, it was merely profane. I have never read sex scenes that have left me quite so cold.

The plot, when we're treated to it, is fairly tight and satisfying. Valdez does create a sticky situation for the hero, forcing him to choose between his beloved brother and the woman he's grown More...

My Review: Very minor spoilers

I absolutely loved this book, though I don’t know if I can put into words all the reasons why and do this story justice because it’s more than just a book...It’s an exciting escape into sexual fantasy, a touching love story, and a happily ever after to rival the best of them.

First of all, the prologue alone caught my attention and had me thinking Hmmm… there’s going to be trouble in paradise… Then chapter one starts off with one of the most passionate s More...

Before i read this book all i heard was how everyone had such a difficult time with one particular word "cervix"
I wasn't to eager to read it after hearing a few bad things however im so glad i did.. you no when you find one of those books that touch and ruffle every emotion in you, where you are left breathless and heartbroken staring into a blank wall thinking

Bu yorum aynı zamanda Romancekolik te yayınlanmıştır.

İlk okuduğumda ki yorumum;

My reviews are mostly my thoughts as I went with the book...

I didn't used to read erotica when I first read Passion but man, this was some great introductory book for me! When I first came across this one on a very ordinary day almost 2 yrs ago, I knew nothing about it; about all the debates of 'to read or not to read' or 'wow or eww'. I read no reviews, just picked it up because I was curious about the title ... So, when Mark saved Passion from that accident in the very beginning of the book, I More...

This book is one of those that causes quite a bit of heated reaction from readers- both love and hate. Whereas when I first read it I would have definitely fallen more in the former than the latter category- as I think back on it, I'm much more ambivalent about my reactions.

On the the one hand I found it, Sexy, explicit, and yes romantic I thought it was a good read. For me the plot seemed simple and intriguing at the same time. The conflict was not hidden- except from the two leads and I waite More...

Excuse me while I recover from being scorched…

This was the first romance story that literally made me go, “Hot DAMN!” on the first words of the very first chapter. And then all tingly the rest of the way.

I know a lot of romance buffs are either indifferent to, or even disdainful of, erotica. And they can be justified sometimes—most of the stories in this genre are simply mindless sex, with most bordering on “perverted” liaisons. (Well, what may pass as perversions to some, in any case.) Oh man. It is not good when my only comments about a book are "WHAT?" "COME ON" AND "This makes me feel awkward". This book was not good. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because she did a great job with the conflict. These two characters were kept apart and unhappy because if they were together, it would hurt someone they loved. Believable conflict: check. Believable everything else: not so much.

So, we've got an extraordinary amount of public sex (in the Crystal Palace More...

This book was recommended to me by a friend whose enthusiasm about the book was so great that I knew I must quickly get my hands on it and read it as soon as possible. I knew going into it that the book was supposedly very hot with some scorching sex scenes but at the same time had a great love story to go along with it. After reading Passion I can say with great confidence that it lived up to it's reputation and surpassed my expectations of it! 5 Smoking Hot Stars!!!

I adore this book. If Lisa doesn't get off her keester and start writing more and faster, and get's her publisher to actually publish the ones she writes, I will eat a baby.
Not really. That's just a figure of speech.

I can definitely see how readers either love or hate this book! With that said, it’s been a while since I pulled an all-nighter reading a book. In fact, it's been a while since I have had so many emotions all at once while reading a book. Obviously, I LOVED it!

Have you ever felt as if you lost a little bit of yourself in the process of growing up and becoming an adult? All the joviality and carefree spirit from your youth transformed into a dull, somewhat boring same old, same old life for the s More...

The writing/dialogue is just ridiculous.

The book begins with Mark's hand on her bewbs. Bahahaha. Here's a snippet of their conversation in the first chapter:

M: "I told you I had what you needed....Look, it's crying to be inside you...Is your cunt crying, too?"

M: "Tell me, is your cunt weeping for my cock?"

Oh, and apparently he has a giant 10.5" schlong and blasts her cervix repeatedly.

RIDONKULOUS BOOK.

Edit: I should add I read this book for the lulz because I knew it would be ridiculous. More...

Setelah dipikir - pikir kembali, cukup 4 bintang aja :P
Dua bintang buat separuh bagian pertama yang isinya malah bikin ngikik pas baca adegan sexnya.
Lima bintang plus plus buat separuh bagian akhirnya yang sukses bikin aku mewek ga karuan itu.

I picked up this gem after seeing it rated so highly among erotica fans. And let me tell you this is a hot and steamy. Passion takes naughty smexing and dirty talk to a new level. From reviews, I knew the c-word was common, but Lord Almighty that was just the tip of the iceberg. At times it was completely titillating and others a bit crude for my taste. However, somewhere along the way Passion and Mark’s story evolved into so much more than sex. It became the heart-felt love story about a man an More...

This book ranks way up there on my "keepers" shelf!

The chemistry between Passion and Mark, the heroine and hero of the story, is compelling. They are drawn to each other immediately, reaching for comfort, however fleeting, recognizing the loneliness that the other bears.

I loved being a witness to their growing closeness, to the developing affection between them. I found myself cheering them on, willing them to fall in love.

Valdez does an admirable job in developing these characters. Love scenes More...

I liked this one! It's always a treat to find an erotic romance novel that has a well-developed story/ plot to go with all of the naughty bits. Our heroine, the unfortunately-named "Passion" is nicely complex and interesting character (though I seriously wished I could do a search and replace of her name in this book with pretty much anything else). Her love interest Mark, is a nice mix of strength and vulnerability. He has serious mommy-issues, and of course I wished he had made different choic More...

I really wasn't sure what I thought when I started reading Passion. The book began with the hero and heroine randomly having sex in the Crystal Palace without knowing anything at all about each other, not even their names. At this point, I was reading with "WTF" repeating over and over in my head.

The prose was very purple- things that were not eyes were weeping and crying and gushing and spewing and I don't even know what else. The way the hero spoke of his, erm, appendage, I expected it to be o More...

Light Spoilers:
I was hovering between giving this book 3 and 4 stars. I really liked Mark and Passion. I felt that they were each really strong and likable people. I only wished I had a better idea of how old they were. I don't think Valdez mentioned their age one time. Hard for me to fully imagine what they looked like without that info. I read the first chapter of this book years ago. But it turned me off that the book starts off with them as strangers having sex. Now maybe because I'm a littl More...

“Passion” was something different! You can read all of the reviews here to get a basic plotline… But the emotions! Those emotion are what grabbed me!!!

I left Romance novels behind years ago. I got so damned tired of the characters, the same plotlines and the amazing number single rakehell Dukes there were in Regency England and the mysteries and suspense of treasure hunters and spymasters! I got fed up!

My favorites have always been historical. Just because we are surrounded by modern romance sto More...

What a wonderful surprise. It's funny how whenever a lot of people give high praises for a book I often find myself wondering what exactly did they see in it that I didn't. With Passion, it was the exact opposite. I had read so many bad reviews for the book on this and other sites, that thought to myself this must be one of those novels that is so terrible that it must be read. So imagine my surprise when I found myself absolutely in love with it, crying and everything. Yes, crying. Now the only More...

If you love scorching, erotic sex scenes, tons of emotion and romance then this is the book for you. It's very appropriately named.

I have to say I've read many erotic romance books, thought this was not categorized as such, and have always found them lacking in everything but sex. Maybe that's why they never did anything for me, they had no emotion or romance. This is where Passion differs. Boy does it differ!!!! To me this was more an erotic romance than a historical romance. That being said, t More...

"Passion" gets off to a great start. Passion and Mark are in the Crystal Palace; the sex is hot; their brief conversations are warm and intense; Mark is delicious and aggressive and crude, Passion is strangely yet so appealingly wise.

The first half of the book is so good that the whole book is worth the read.

Valdez carries the tone of the beginning through the first half of the novel. All of the characters are dancing carefully around one another. The reader knows things the characters don't, More...

This is my first Lisa Valdez book. I saw several people gave this book 5 stars so I thought to give it a try as I'm in a bout of 'historical-romance' craving right now.

I actually don't know how to shelve this. It claimed to be 'historical', but other than having a tour inside the Crystal Palace & a few descriptions of clothing & carriage rides, I wasn't at all transported to that time period. Especially the way the hero & heroine talk to each other in several sensual(?!) encounters, More...
