The 3rd book in the Indigo Court series. Cicely and her friends have rescued Grieve but at the cost of their alliance with the vampires and the Summer Queen. In desperation, they turn to the Consortium, the preeminent magical guild, for help. Now, to regain the good will of Lainule, they must dare to enter the heart of Myst's realm. But as Cicely and Grieve embark on their search for the heartstone of Summer, Myst, the Queen of Winter, is already wrecking her terrifying revenge.

Haven't been able to put it down. I read the first 60% the first night. If I didn't have to work I just might have finished the book! I just love these people and I really want to see what happens with Lannan and Cicely now that he is in his new though temporary position! I think it could be HOT!!!!

Ok So finished it last night! Sometimes I hate the way I'm left wanting more! This is one of those times. Felt like a total cliff hanger. Lannan was a fav in this one. And I can't wait to see what the...more

Third in the Indigo Court urban fantasy series revolving around two cousins and their friends.

    My Take
It's heavy-handed, melodramatic , and all too easy. Sure there are a number of dramatic moments: a hunt and battles. But when you take a step back, they are only moments---sweet, romantic, terror-filled, and fearful---and their conclusions are too simple. But hey, at least we have the clichéd protagonist who can't be bothered to stop for a minute to learn the negative side effects. Oops, gotta st...more

    As Seen on Rabidreads.ca:

Night Seeker elegantly slaps the urban world with that of the fantasy world. I am taking much of my inspiration from Galenorn’s words at the end of the book in which she states she always intended for this series to be a dark Faerie tale.

Certainly the grittiness is in full effect from the get-go (here I will clarify that this is the third book in a series of which I have not read either one or two; as you can tell from the number of paws, however, I am going to track the...more

Series Keeps Getting Better and Better!

I strongly recommend you read the previous books in the series (Night Myst and Night Veil) prior to reading this installment.

I really enjoy this series; and while I find it a bit darker and more series than the Otherworld series, there is also a superficial element to it. However, it does not have a great impact on the story and can be bypassed or disregarded easily.

I loved the story progression and the feeling of unraveling a great, dangerous mystery; in a...more

Night Seeker in the third installment in Yasmine Galenorn's dark and delightful Indigo Court series. This series is yet another example of Galenorn's incredible imagination and world building. The wonderful plot, skilled characterization and suspenseful story make the Indigo Court novels an absolute auto-buy.

In Night Seeker the Summer Queen is dying. In order to save her and regain her goodwill Cicely sets out with Grieve, Rhiannon, Chatter and Kaylin on a quest deep into enemy territory to find...more

I thought Night Seeker was a good continuation of this series. The growth of the characters was well done. Overall though I must admit that this series never really captured by attention in the way that Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld does. I think my slight dislike of the Indigo Court series stems from the Romeo & Juliet aspect of the main characters (Cicely & Grieve). Although even that doesn't fully explain my feelings as I actually love the original play (and both the original movie &...more

Not nearly as good as the first 2. I was really looking forward to one hell of a continuation but didn't get it here. I really enjoy a good blend of fantasy/romance and this just didn't hold to the direction it was going. Cicely and grieve's relationship in this story was just ugh. So not feeling it. She seemed to have more of a relationship with Altos. I looked forward to their scenes together cause it actually felt like the story came to life. Everyone else cicely included were like zombies vo...more

I was sorely disappointed with this book. It was totally predictable, and I believe it should have been marketed for young teenage readers, bar the sex.

The heroine is an annoying, inconsiderate, completely gormless moron and the phrase 'put brain into gear before engaging mouth' comes immediately to mind. Who wants to read about idiots? She doesn't even make it for an idiot savante. Unless it's a comedy, an idiot for a heroine is hardly entertaining. Aside from simply looking in the mirror, I c...more

Cicely and the gang are once again on the run. Living in a warehouse, they are not only on the run from Myst and the Shadow Hunters. Cicely did not go along with the vampire and summer queen's plan to turn Cicely into a “Myst” like hybrid so they are also isolated from the vampires and the summer queen, Lainule. Cicely decides she must retrieve Lainule’s heart stone from the depths of Myst kingdom, to save the summer queen and her allegance. Taking on this journey that will change both Cicely an...more

The Indigo Court series by Yasmine Galenorn is another winner and Night Seeker was a great addition. Because this series is so interwoven, you cannot start with this book without being confused. Since I was smart enough to start at the beginning, I loved the newest installment. Cicely Waters and her friends are trying to save their corner of the world from being overrun but the Vampire Fae queen, Myst, because is Cicely fails the world will become an eternal winter overrun with dark power. I really don't know why I picked up this one. I barely got through the last one in the series, and I wasn't dying to see how it turned out. I have plenty to read. We'll just call it a bout of insanity, which was cured two chapters in. Seriously, Galenorn's sentence structure was enough to turn me off- with its awkwardness and repetitiveness. Maybe grad school has just ruined me. But even if that wasn't the case - the way her main character turns to jelly any time a remotely attractive male looks...more

Each book got better and better! The first book was a bit confusing but that's only because so much was happening. This series has grown on me and I will definitely look for the next book when it comes out. I have become very fond of some of the unique characters in this series. This book wasn't has dark as the previous books. The only issue for me is that the characters work up to these great events and then sometimes...it falls short. Regardless, I suggest you give these books a chance especia...more

This book is third in a series by one of my favorite authors. I have read all three in this series but if you start with this book, Yasmine Galenorn series are easy to jump into since she does mini recaps throughout each book. This series is not as explicit as the Otherworld series with the D'artigo sisters but does contain graphic content as well. The series revolves around half human, half fae cousins and their fight against a renegade fae queen. It is part action, part romance and contains al...more

Vampiric Fae lead by powerful Snow Queen Myst are taking over the town New Forest and covering the world in snow and blood lust fuelled violence. To save her lover, friends and heating bills Cicely and any allies she can get in a hurry must battle Myst and her army. That is pretty much the Indigo Court books in a nut shell.

Night Seeker is the third book in a five book series.
Cicely knows that she cannot beat Myst and her tainted wintery powers without the aid of the Summer Queen. Unfortunately t...more

After reading the third installment of the series I've come to the conclusion that there are two reasons I keep reading this series. 1) Lannon Altos, 2) Because I just can't start a series and not finish it. Character development is poor to the point that all the characters become a blur. Everyone talks the same way so it's hard to distinguish one personality to the next. Ya we get it Grieve and Cicily are soul-mates blah blah blah, but there's no realism in their relationship. What kind of real...more

Wind witch and owl shifter, Cicely Waters, rescued her lover, Fae Prince Grieve from the Indigo Court, but not before Myst, the Queen Of Winter, turned him. The rescue destroyed Cicely’s alliance with Lainule, the Queen of Summer and destroyed any hope of cooperation from the vampires. Cicely, in de...more

I was so looking forward to reading this book after Night Veil, but I guess I had my hopes set too high because I was bored and disappointed. I thought that Grieve and Cicely were a snoozefest, and if not for the sexy, hedonistic vamp, Lannan, my rating would have been 2 stars. It did have the usual good fantasy storyline, but the fantasy scenes were too long and drawn out for me and I found myself looking ahead to see how many pages I had left to slog through--not a good thing and a sure indica...more

Ceciley hasn't had an easy return to the town she called home when she was little. all she wanted was to return to the place that had been a happy place in her memories but when she came back nothing was as it should have been.

In this installment we find our heroine smack-dab in the middle of the war with allies becoming few and far between she has some harsh choices to make and worse at every turn she questions herself. With allies keeping secrets and enemies closing in she has a lot on her pla...more

Cicely Waters returns in book 3 of the Indigo Court series. Multitalented, she is witch that is able to control wind, as well as being part Cambyra Faethe (shifting fae) she is able to shift into an owl. Cicely is joined by her friends and loved ones which are in hiding from Myst, the Queen of the Indigo Court, and her Shadow Hunters. The city is being terrorized by Myst and her supporters. Cicely and her friends are the only ones that can stop Winter from taking full control.

I adore this series, but something about this one just is just off. There are an absurd amount of sex scenes for no reason. After a point, there's a sex scene every single time something happens story-wise. Cicely and Grieve tend to get sickly-sweet, with the same description each time- something about it being a light in the dark times...

    But!

The story arc itself is quite good. While it's slow to start, there are a few unexpected twists and turns, especially in the second half of the book. I wil...more

I love Yamine Galenorn world building in all of her books. But sometimes the character of Cicely just gets on my nerves. I wanted to scream if I heard "my love, my beloved" "you have my heart even if my body reacts to him...." blah blah blah. Who says that in this day and age? I understand some of the reasoning behind Cicely's lapse into the past, but it still bugs me. I will continue reading the series. There will be two more books after this one. But sometimes I just want to shove a limp fish...more

Read it in one afternoon - let's let that speak for itself. Fabulous continuation of Cicely's journey against the Indigo Court. What we learn about each individual character in this part of the story, seeing them changing and evolving, really keeps you in the story. The ending.... well you always hate it when it leaves you hanging, but alas, it has to be that way so we look forward to the next book.

    What I Loved
    Ending
This book had one of those endings were things have finally started to go the good guys way. Winning the war and not just battles are finally looking like it is possible. It's like a false ending, good things happened, finally, but things aren't finished yet, not by a long shot.

I loved this one! This is the third in the Indigo Court series. I like this series much better than Galenorn's other one. If you haven't read the prior novels-do not read this one! The characters seem more down-to-earth and likable. The series centers around a reborn woman who was once the daughter of an evil vampire fae who happened to fall in love with a good fae. It actually all started when the vampires- damn their blood sucking hides- tried to harvest the dark fae's magic by turning them- i...more

I received this book for free from the Goodreads first-read giveaway. A first rate fantasy book; one of the best I've read this year. Sexy with lots of action, mysterious beings, and fantastic realms. I wish I could have read the first 2 books in series before this one. Has a helpful guide to the characters in the back of the book that I didn't discover until I was finished. Well worth your time.

hmmmmmmm...My first book I have finished in a few months. I skipped the second. Can't find it or long line at the library.

This one I liked. Kept me on my toes. Did not care for some of the unbelievable mushy parts. I liked the action and the pace of the book. Still prefer her Otherworld Series.

Her latest came out about a week ago....must read! Ja!

I'm still not 100% on the books but I want to know how the story ends. The books always end at good stopping points so thats nice. The fate of the group is reviled so it will be interesting to see how the next book turns out. The characters confess their undying love for each other so many times that it just seems like platitudes. :/

There's so much going on in this world that Galenorn has created. I want to know more. I want to know it all. I read it thinking that this was the last book. I have no idea why I thought that, but I was so flipping happy to learn it isn't to be the last in the series.
I'm pretty sure that I like the Indigo Court series better than the Otherworld series. Galenorn has described it as more of a dark fairy tale and I would have to agree with it. There's so many as...more
