Eleventh in the Otherworld / Sisters of the Moon urban fantasy series revolving back and forth between the points-of-view of three sisters. This story is from Delilah's perspective.

My Take
I'm getting tired of Delilah's immaturity. Hasn't she any control of her kittycat side? It's just embarrassing. She's whining all over the place about how everyone is changing and, ahem, growing up. And she doesn't like it. It seems it's okay for Delilah to change, but not for anyone else. Even Shade is getting...more

I really enjoy Mrs Galenorn's novels; this series is filled with a lush mythology and wonderfully complicated characters that keep me engaged.
Normally, I'd give this book a five star rating. The plot was fast, the action was intense, and the undercurrents of fear and uncertainty is intense. Everything to do with the overall story I loved. I loved Iris finally getting married, I loved Camille's dealing with the events of Courting Darkness, I love Chase's fawnlike adjustment to who he is now.

I was super excited once this book came out! The D'Artigo sisters are by far my favorite group of paranormal gals!

This book follows Delilah(and her sisters of course) There are bad guys, more bad guys, family issues, a few happy moments and romance.

With the Bonecrusher gone everyone thought they would get a break. Well, think again. Even with the wedding on the horizon(for Iris of course) they just can't seem to get a break. Someone is blowing up Supes--starting with the Supernatural Community H...more

The Otherworld series runs in books of three, each book revolving around one of the three sisters. This is the 11th book in the series and the 4th book about the middle sister Delilah. As usual there's Trouble afoot in the greater Seattle area, and although Iris, their sprite housekeeper, priestess and friend is about to get married the bad guys don't care and try their best to ruin the wedding day. Someone blows up the Sup community center and although it seems at first glance it is the human h...more

Dies ist der 11. Band der Reihe 'Sisters of the Moon' von Yasmine Galenorn.

In this 11th book of the OtherWorld series, the D'Artigo sisters are celebrating their friend Iris' upcoming nuptials on Valentine's Day. The ladies enjoy a bachelorette party, and for the first time in a long time, they get to have some fun together! When Camille seems suspicious of an exotic dancer hired for the event, Iris's stomach has other plans. Of course, the night isn't all fun and games as they get news after they return home of a bombing of the Supe Community Council. In between inves...more

This is book 11 in the series. If you are a fan of the series, you will not be disappointed. If you aren't familiar with the series, you should probably start with an earlier book so you won't feel so lost.

I was afraid this series had jumped the shark for me after the last installment.Thankfully this novel, has gotten me to want to stick with it.It went back towards how it had been when I eagerly awaited each new book.It dealt with the sisters trying to fit into both of their worlds and the fight f...more

Mon avis en français

My English review

After reading the first three books, here I am ready for the eleventh volume of the Sisters of the Moon series. Yes, I know, I have a little hole in my reads but I’m surprised to say it didn’t bother me at all. Well maybe it’s better to read them in order, it’s true, but once we know Delilah, Menolly and Camille, we don’t have a lot of questions.

This novel presents us the story from the Delilah’s point of view this time. We can immediately understand it by th...more

The D'Artigo sisters can never seem to catch a break. It should have been a happy time as they prepare to celebrate Iris's wedding. But things go from bad to worse when the Supe Comunity center is bombed the night before, and that is only the start. The Koyami are back and wreaking havoc yet again as they team up with another of the girls' past nemesis, a pair of nasty sorcerers. Meanwhile it looks like Shadow Wing is gearing up for another...more

Shaded Vision is the eleventh installment in the Otherworld series by Yasmine Galenorn and a Jove Paranormal Romance.

Book Blurb:

It’s the night before Valentine’s Day and we’re preparing for our friend Iris’s wedding. But when we get word that the Supe Community Council has been bombed, things get really ugly.

The coyote shifters - the Koyanni - are back, and Newkirk, their new leader, has joined forces with a group of rogue sorcerers. Then, just as we think things can’t get worse, the demon lord...more

The 11th in the Sisters of the Otherworld series. This one is told from Delilah's point of view. Camille is still trying to heal from her ordeal with Hyto, Iris is pregnant and getting married, there is a new Daemon general in town, the Kyonni are back and their new leader has a spirit seal, and just for fun they are also in cahoots with Van and Jaycee the sorcerers who escaped in a previous book.

Yeah, it's kind of crazy how much is packed into this book but Galenorn weaves it well infusing enou...more

Some thoughts as I read:

I've noticed people commenting on Delialah's back-sliding in growth. I too started to think that way, but then a thought occurred to me. She's always been the weaker one, the younger one emotionally, more naive. She HAS grown, by leaps and bounds. But if you truly follow the series, then the last book and what her oldest sister, the "rock" of the three went through, then you have to take that into account. Though it physically happened to Camille, emotionally I think Deli...more

I've read all the "Sisters of the Moon" books. I'm only giving them two stars because they're snack books. They're like Cracker Jack; nutritionally indefensible and quickly consumed. I am not proud of my addiction, and I do feel like I should apologize to UT's English department for reading something called a "supernatural romance," but they are fun, and I enjoy the characters adventures. The sex scenes are a little explicit for my taste, and no one can call the plots well-crafted or subtle. The...more

Maybe I'm still dealing with the underwhelming 2011 book season but I just wasn't a fan of this book. I was bored after reading the first half of the book and struggled to finished it. I just felt like there's not plot movement in the book. They keep gathering more people to live underneath their roof, the big bad gets bigger, and then other baddies cause havoc, and during this all they all fall in love and get married or engaged. It just seems very similar to LKH universe without the bad smut.

This book was just really annoying right from the start. The PI, supposedly tech-savvy, doesn't know Mario is Nintendo not Xbox (people who have never gamed know this, its a decades old franchise). Her idea of a masterful Google search is ridiculous. Add quotations marks? You don't say. The overarching plot between books is still not really going anywhere, there's lots of whinging, and the sex scenes are rehashed from previous installments. On the bright side, I think this is the point where I'm...more

Folks have been giving this a serious bash about the head and shoulders but honestly, I think this is one of my favorite thus far of the series. Delilah grows, but she is still fallible and learning. Very much human, for all that she is only half!

Yasmine Galenorn has a real genius when it comes to the Sisters of Moon series. In today's paranormal books, so often authors decide to use our modern current world as the setting... while at the same time refusing to allow their characters any knowledg...more

Could’ve Been Better

I strongly recommend you read this series in order [Witchling, Changeling, Darkling, Dragon Wytch, Night Huntress, Demon Mistress, Never After (anthology), Bone Magic, Inked (anthology), Harvest Hunting, Blood Wyne, Hexed Anthology"ice shards", Etched in Silver novella and Courting Darkness] prior to reading this installment.

I didn't enjoy this installment as much as I thought I was going to and it took me far longer than I would've liked to finish this book. The story starte...more

Based on Delilah's view point , the race is still on to beat the Shadow Lord to the Amulets. Many complications and changes are happening between the D'Artigo family and their friends demographic. The evil Koyami are back and are raising heck in the shifter community.

Shaded Vision was action packed and I did like it a lot but it also seemed to be missing the comical situations and wit from the previous books and it lacked something that got me invested in the outcome of the characters struggles...more

Do you like strong characters that continue to grow and develop? Not to mention kick butt fight scenes. Then this is the series for you! Yasmine Galenorn has a round robin series, where the POV is changed in each book to a different lead character. IE: Book 1: Camille, Book 2: Delilah, Book 3: Menolly, Book 4: Camille, etc. I find this method refreshing and you get to know the main characters even better since you are seeing things through their eyes. Each book is not the same plot, and the stor...more

I love the Otherworld series but this book is probably the weakest for me. Delilah is my least favorite of the D'Artigo sisters but I really liked the direction her character was going and the fact that she had grown so much. The last book that featured her, Harvest Hunting, was amazing and I had high hopes for this one. It's really hard for a book to top Courting Darkness so I wasn't expecting it to but I felt a bit let down after reading Shaded Vision.

Delilah seems to have taken several steps...more

My thoughts:
I've been a fan of Yasmine Galenorn for a while now. I love the series and always look forward to each book. This one wasn't as good as the last, even though a lot of stuff happened. I joined Audible again so I listened to it instead of reading it. I think that had something to do with my feelings on this book. The narrator seemed to make the book boring to me and even made the sisters seem like total whining wimps (which I know they aren't). Even what few sex scenes there were seeme...more

I can't really explain what is wrong with this book for me, because there were parts I really liked, but overall I felt like this one is lacking.

I loved the bachelorette party that the sisters and Iris had. The antics that went on were classic and about what you expect when they all get together. The wedding was great too, I really am glad that Iris is happy and being let to be happy.

One of my issue with the book was Delilah's whining. There was multiple times it seemed like the story stopped a...more

I don't know why I keep reading this series. Delilah is my favorite sister so there is that. However this book was basically about Camille, my least favorite, told from Delilah's voice. The over use of analogies and excessive physical descriptions is annoying as hell. I don't need to know every detail of every outfit everyone wore. Then there were other details that made the story so unbelievable it was ridiculous. Sigh, how many more books are expected?

I think I may have come into this series too late. There are quite a few books in this series before this one takes place and that might have been my downfall. I was confused most of the time with too many characters to keep track, powers I didn't understand and relationships that were probably explained in other books but not clear here. I don't know that I'm interested enough to go back and find out how the complications happened. The writing was solid though and anyone who likes the Seattle P...more

Yasmine Galenorn is an absolutely fabulous author and has created such an original and engaging world with her Otherworld/Sisters of the Moon series. Shaded Vision, book 11, cannot be read as a standalone and you really should go back to the beginning to fully enjoy the character development and build up. I’ve really enjoyed throughout the series that each book follows the perspective of a different sister. This time we are following along with Delilah. Even though we’re celebrating Iris’s weddi...more

Delilah has certainly decided to start growing up. I really liked how this out of all the Delilah centric novels has spotlighted her growing awareness of the changes in her life. Galenorn has repeatedly stated through her novels that the three sisters are actually quite young in Otherworld terms and this really brought that home.

Ok, to be honest at this point the battles seem to blend and its hard to tell the difference. This series has been going on for years and I just have to say, I am waiting for the grand finale. The constant repetition of Delilah losing her optimism is childish and over the top. Get over it already! I did find it strange that Chase had to be on the verge of fatherhood while Delilah is announcing her intention of getting married. It makes it less believable and seems like the author is trying to b...more
