Out of all the gardening with kids books I checked out from my local library, I liked this one the best. It is chock full of pictures. The first section discusses basic garden information: photosynthesis, pollination, water and the water cycle, composting, worm farming, how to plant seeds, cuttings. The pages aren't full of scientific text, but explain what you need to know in an easy to read way, along with lots of pictures. The middle section is your project section. GREAT book for intimidated beginning gardners.

I ordered this book hoping it would get my son interested in some gardening projects with me. It was way too much for him (he's 3), but it was so helpful to me that I had to give it 5 stars. It put green thumbing in common easy to understand terms for this new gardener. It stressed organic natural gardening. And I was able to extract projects for my son and I, like our birdfeeders and a CD strand to keep the birds away from the berries. I liked how...more
