This is a really interesting viewpoint of a famous historical battle, pieced together from surviving documents and interviews. It describes what many citizens were doing before, during and after the battle and how the town coped with the aftermath. Recommends it for: history buffs!
This book is a consolidation of various articles, journals and diaries by citizens of Gettysburg. From before the actual Battle of Gettysburg, until after Lincoln's address...this is very moving history of their experiences. Definitely something for the history buffs or for those who wonder how the citizenry lived and survived and cared during this horrific time in their lives.
