When Liam makes a scene in the middle of a restaurant after his boyfriend, Brandon, dumps him, he knows Brandon’s cousins, the Delaney twins, will be after him. The Delaneys head up the local gangster scene and are not to be messed with. Liam knows their retribution is imminent, especially since, in the heat of the moment, he threatened to take what he knows (and, really, ...more

This witty, fun short centres around hapless Liam, whose quick temper gets him into a heap of trouble. His boyfriend dumps him and Liam loses it, pours a bottle of champagne over his boyfriend's head and makes a load of rash accusations. Unfortunately for Liam his boyfriend is a cousin of the Delaney's, twin brothers who are local mobsters and they don't take kindly to anyone messing with their family. The next day the Delaney brothers appear at Liam's door with a gun and give him a choice: Have ...more

I'm not a huge fan of threesome but this short story is pretty fun and naughty :). I actually enjoy Liam's adventure with the Delaneys twin. It brings a lot of smile to my face -- the way that Liam handles his choice of 'punishment'. Naughty, naughty Liam :p

Mark and Johnny Delaney have a reputation—a criminal reputation. They’re mobsters, and pretty much everyone knows it. When Liam very publicly breaks up with the Delaneys’ cousin Brandon, he makes some threats which he quickly regrets. He tells Brandon he’s going to go to the police and spill everything he knows, and then he proceeds to pour a bottle of champagne over his ex boyfriend’s head.

The very next day the Delaney Twins show up to confront Liam. They’re both calm and cool, but also very st
This was one fantastic short, and I am not surprised because the author sure knows how to write them. It has filled with wit, drama, and a whole lot of sexy. The Dalaneys & Me is a whole lot of awesomeness packed into 35 pages.

Liam is making a scene and it could cost him his life, but he doesn't care because his boyfriend Brandon is dumping him in the middle of a restaurant. Liam knows better than to cause a scene and embarrass Brandon, because he is the cousin to the Delaney twins. The twin

It took a bit for me to get into this one... not promising with a short story.

It was the humiliation aspect (sooo ok when the parties involved are consenting and into it) in the beginning between the Delaney twins and Liam that left me a bit cold. Now, humiliation can be titillating but these Delaneys are thugs and hold all the cards. They’ve got a beef with Liam -- he crossed them -- and they own this city and can hurt him real bad. With a gun. Oh, there’s a touch of gunplay too.

Anyways, poor

Ok, here's the thing where I am probably wrong. Personally, I don't find submission or humiliation appealing. But when you are into submission, you don't see it as humiliation. But because I am not (I don't even like to read about it) I don't get the attraction.
The story in itself is just that a story. Not very believable.
I will read the second book now to see how I feel. D&S is an interesting world, though. I would love to find a MM romance where the whole story is close to reality.
A fun and entertaining story about a young man who discovers that sometimes the 'crime' is worth the 'time'. When he mouths off and is made to choose between physical pain or a night of sex with the Delaney twins as his punishment Liam is in for a naughty night he won't soon forget. This short story features well drawn characters, solid writing and some really sexy scenes.

I was a little worried about the idea of being forced to choose between physical damage and unwanted sex. Luckily, that isn't what was here. The story is funny and Liam is great. I think his Dom perignon over Brandons cheating head turned out to be well worth it, and fhe three way was so good. Now if the Delaneys would share more than a kiss.....
Well-written but a very poor use of's all sugary:-s
Decide if its dark or cute, but don't meld into this misleading sugar-kink.

Anne Brooke’s The Delaneys and Me is an erotic short that reads shamelessly like the plot for a gay porno. Narrator Liam has just broken up with his boyfriend in a spectacular public display at a local restaurant and is sweating bullets because his boyfriend just happens to be a member of the local crime family, who’ll surely be seeking retribution. Enter the Delaney twins, local bruisers (bosses? IDK, the actual politics of organized crime here are seriously fuzzy), who follow Liam home from wo ...more

This clever short story from Anne Brooke introduces us to Liam, who was dumped the previous night by his 'connected' boyfriend Brandon. Since Liam made a ruckus (and threatened to tell all he knows to the police), he knows the Delaney brothers, heads of the local gangster scene, will be by to punish him. He can only hope to escape alive.

As it turns out, the Delaney brothers offer him a choice ~ they'll shoot his balls off or he can have no-holds-barred sex with them for a night. Liam ch

This is a contemporary story, mainly due to some hints here and there giving a modern “taste” to it, but for all other that matter, the feeling I had was almost of a black and white crime little story. Liam is a young and handsome man who had the bad idea to threaten in public his cheating boyfriend. Pity that said boyfriend has two twin cousins who are also dangerous gangsters and who don’t like someone to mess with their family. To Liam is offered a choice: or being shot on the spot, and in a ...more

Quick, witty, sexy (who doesn't like a captive sex scenario). Sometimes size doesn't matter, really. This may be short but it's all quality.

Anne Brooke has the most delightful turn of phrase and it's a pleasure to read something so well written and edited. Mark and Johnny - well, they're like (sexy) Kray twins light.

Loved it, now on to the next installment.

Delicious tension and build-up, and fun for me because it didn't stray too much into cliche. Each character was well crafted, even those with little dialogue, sexy scene-building and plenty of cheeky manipulation on all sides.

I won this series a few months ago and only started reading today. Very enjoyable short about bossy twins and their hapless "victim". I can't wait to start on the next one.

For a slut like Liam, there's no choice between getting his balls shot of or a night of mind blowing sex with a pair of hot twins.

Indie Reviews

The Delaneys and Me by Anne Brooke is an entertaining and witty ménage short story that provides a good mix of suspense and humour for a relatively angst free read. The story is written in the first person through the central character of Liam, who is quite cheeky and possesses a sarcastic disposition providing for a tongue-in-cheek narrative.

Anne Brooke builds the suspense from the beginning of the story well-capturing Liam’s fear as he continuously looks over his shoulder, awaiting the moment

This was a fun, very quick read, but I wanted more. It's well-written, smart and funny at times, but I'd expected a bit more hot sex and a little more plot.

Liam gets dumped by his boyfriend Brandon and makes a huge scene at this restaurant. The Delaney twins think of family above all else, which is not so good for Liam since Brandon is their cousin.

Liam knows it is coming and tries to talk his way out of it when they flash their guns. He quickly realizes this could be a good thing when they make him an offer to have sex with them else. Of course he is going to have sex with them, he is going to inniate the sex himself!

Una historia corta pero entretenida, es raro encontrar una homoerótica con gánsters XD Los Delaneys son machos a considerar, creo que me pondré de lleno a seguir con las demás historias. Recomendable

I would really like to read more on the characters in this book. The story is mint and I enjoyed it even though it's short.
A light-hearted non-con (apparently) with a dash if twincest ... short & fast to read but not compelling.
