Yes, yes I read the Italian’s Blackmailed Mistress. And yes, I am ashamed.

The Italian in question is Max. He’s a self-made millionaire (at 31) despite coming from a very wealthy family, dashing and handsome he’s loved by women everywhere. Enter Sophia, the Blackmailed Mistress, who at 19 is working at one of the family hotels. She’s a beautiful, innocent, and studying to be a linguist. It’s instant attraction on both sides and soon the pair is dating. Max, who has a shred of decency, knows bette

It's your usual HP formula, where drama surrounded the big misunderstanding. Where a perfectly placed badly timed eavesdropping started a ball of anger, hurt and heartbreak rolling.
I think Sophie was a nice heroine. She's doing pretty good job standing up for herself, other times she conceded or not defending herself was not because of meekness but she just didn't give a fuck anymore.
Max was also your usual HP hero. Too blinded by his own anger, pride and jealousy to see what or who was really

4 Stars ~ Hotelier Max was instantly bewitched when Sophia walked into his Sicilian hotel suite. She was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. Tall, slim but with delicious curves, and he wanted her. He soon learned from his manager that she was the 19 year old daughter of a friend working her vacation time from university, and definitely hands off. Max was enchanted and couldn't help himself from flirting; not seducing Sophie was nearly his undoing. When Max discovers that he has testicul ...more

OK i love this book, WARNING though if you like the whole being blackmail concept then this is for you but if you don't like the female to be too controlling by the man then this isn't for you
The plot is base on one big misunderstanding (aren't they all)but the author takes us on a ride with these two characters and she really tease us and gave us some good love scenes that i have read in a while in a harlequin presents book
JB brings love at first sight back to life. She gives hope to her characters and there's no quota on that. It's kinda ballsy of her to place our hero in a rather unique circumstance. She glides on some pure emotions but just scratching the surface. I'm a total sucker for the besotted hero and the highly possessive ones. Not her very best but it's one of the better ones.

One big misunderstanding between then 19 year old Sophie Rutherford and 31 year old Max Quintano led to an ugly end in their relationship. Now 7 years later 26 year old Sophie and 38 year old Max meet again. Filled with rage over the reason he thinks Sophie left him, Max uses her father's debt to get her into his bed. Although they are both filled with anger at each other, they can't stop the chemistry that is between them. Then, suddenly they learned the reason for their breakup was a mix up. A ...more
Kept me reading and was fun for what it was but h was TSTL. She initially leaves hero because someone tells her he's messing around with his sister (VC Andrews did not co-author). (view spoiler) One of THE top ten stupidest big misunderstandings ever.
Typical Harlequin fluff~~~~~~~~

I don't know how people gave this book 3 a nd 4 stars......... The H was a jerk without redemtion. She was not treated as a mistress, she was a sex slave and in the end of the book, when she tells him that him and her father could go both go to hell, he comes back and tells he "I love you" and she marries him, just like that..... she even can't wait to take his clothes off............... what a shitty book, she didn't even had a loving family worth sacrficing for, only his brother, but is not l
