Pierwsza powieść Myśliwskiego jest znacznie krótsza niż jego bardziej "współczesne" dzieła, lecz i tak czuć w niej wielki literacki temat. Jest też bardziej zwięzła tematycznie, ale i tak wiele motywów z twórczości autora przejawia się i tu: pamięć, tożsamość, istnienie. Jest to po prostu świetna literatura.

All books about father and son are important to me. Here we have big questiones from son. This searching for is in poetical style, typical for Myśliwski. Opening memory and showing cuts from. We don't have typical storytelling, but questions, answers, inner thoughts, remembered pictures, details. And narrator's looking for his identity. This orchard isn't naked for me. I rather see it in morning fog. Dark clouds. Wild peartrees. Walking through and discovering, answering... what being son mean? ...more

Wiesław Myśliwski is a Polish novelist. In his novels and plays Myśliwski concentrates on life in the Polish countryside. He is twice the winner of the Nike Award (Polish equivalent of the Booker Prize) for Widnokrąg (1996) and Traktat o łuskaniu fasoli (2006).
