I read the first couple of pages. Alice and her friend Jane are chased by four big burly men and are rescued by another guy, then they decide that it's OK to get into the car of a complete stranger because he saved them from being raped or killed.

Apparently a rescue is the new sweets from a stranger.

I'm sorry, it just made me LOL. Not for me.

the funny thing about this book, is that it is almost an exact replica of twilight, yet soo much better. and thats saying something because this book sucks.:p there's no goody goody edward/bella in this one, and there is a better sense of humor,, and thats why it gets two stars,, aha(:

Vjerujem da već pretpostavljate da knjiga ima veze sa vampirima. Kad sam već kod toga, dopustite mi jednu malu digresiju - Kako ćete prepoznati lošu knjigu o vampirima koju je napisala neka jadna debeljuca u kasnim dvadesetim ili srednjovječna kućanica koja želi zadaviti svoje troje djece i muža? Samo pogledajte kako se zove knjiga! Ako u naslovu imaju riječi: blood, passion, lust, fate
- okanite se knjige i tražite dalje. Da sam sama poslušala svoj savjet, sada ne bih ovako ogorčeno pisala o ovo...more

Most people won't believe me when I say this, and some might even think I'm an idiot for saying it! I liked this book way more than Twilight! I found Alice to be so much more tolerable than the ever annoying Bella Swan. She meets Jack and she doesn't turn into a complete blubbering fool for starters.

Jack is an awesome character as well. I just really liked all of the characters in this book.

I picked this book up to get a cheap .99 read on the Nook, but I kept reading all 4 of the books so far,...more

Wow! I still can't believe I brought this ebook from Amazon for 76p!
I originally thought that the price would speak for itself but it completely surprised me and now I have no idea why Amazon are selling it so cheap!

I LOVED this story. I loved the way it gripped me all the way through - I loved the characters and I loved the way the author did not just stick to an original love triangle. I felt the story was unique and it left me cheering for both TEAM JACK & TEAM PETER! I can't not wait t...more

I bought this because I literally had $1 available credit on my visa. I've read some articles about the author and her newly earned bazillions and I thought, "Self, is there a better way to piss away your hard earned last dollar than on a self published e-book? No, self, there is not."

The first half was a quick, mostly enjoyable read. It really felt more like I was reading a novel turned in to be work shopped in creative writing 101 - in fact my reading enjoyment would have been increased if my...more

I liked this book. I enjoyed the storyline and the characters and although not completely unique in every way the author managed to bring the story to some new and unique places.

Before I got the book Amanda was awesome. She told me that she wouldn't promise that it would be mistake free. And it wasn't. But most of it wasn't that obvious to me. There were a few errors grammatically wise that I wouldn't have noticed much if I hadn't been aware that there would be some. The main things that bother...more

So, this woman just got a $2 million advance from St. Martin's for a series of her books. I bought this one for .99 off Kindle/Amazon, which is where she got started. I admire her energy and self-starter mentality--she's basically made herself into a cottage industry worth millions now, after a handful of paranormal romance novels. But I read this one after reading Alden Bell's brilliant, fascinating, edge-of-seat-gripping The Reapers are the Angels, which has style and substance and tone and re...more

I had never heard of the My Blood Approves series, and to be frank, when I first heard the name I wasn’t too intrigued. The name didn’t strike me as being the name of an awesome book, and to be honest, I’ve admitted before that I am the type to judge a book by it’s cover, and it’s name. However, this book was recommended to me by a girl I actually used to babysit when I was in high school. She’s in high school now, has happily jumped on the Twil...more

This book sucked so bad, it should be banned, and the author should be exiled to another galaxy. I...more

As Amanda Hocking’s official #1 fan (I have a t-shirt and everything), I figured it was finally time I actually read one of her several books. Being an indie author that puts a new book out every week (or so it seems), I was very interested at what she would dish up. And what I found was pure awesomeness.

Alice was a pretty good protagonist. I don’t really like the fact that she was willing to throw her whole life away just to be part of Jack and Peter’s family, but she carried the story well and...more

While I felt it was well written, it just didn't draw me in and say that I had to read the next book in the series. It took just too long to reveal the 'Big Secret' that I had figured out within the first chapter. The love triangle just didn't work for me at all though it was an interesting tangle of feelings I just couldn't get emotionally involved with the characters. I don't count this as one of Ms. Hockings better efforts.

You know how many times I felt like jumping in the book & yelling at Alice??
When I read a book, I like to agree with (or at least see the light in) most of the things the main character does. With this book, most of the time I didn't agree with Alice (the main character). She done a lot of dumb things. Too much for me to enjoy.

The more pages I read, the less I liked it...

The first half was ok, but the last half was so bad, I can't bring my self to rate it more than two stars.
Ok, I'm moving t...more

I admire Amanda Hocking and her talent and passion for writing. I bought My Blood Approves in paperback (didn't have my Kindle then) and got hooked on the series. I never heard about Amanda until I went to a writers forum. They mentioned her as an indie author and NOT with great admiration. My curiosity lead me to Amazon where I promptly purchased the book. I saw other reviewers compare it to Twilight. The only thing in common is the name Alice and the fact that the vampires are rich - period, a...more

ummm This book made absolutely no sense. I laughed at the main character Alice the whole time and not one problem was solved just more kept arriving. Here's what I think should happen to Alice...she should go and seek death. It Will solve any and every problem except the Milo one. Ahh Milo you poor helpless child caught in between your sister's BS I'm sorry you have to suffer.
but honestly here my summary of each character:

I could write this book off as "yep just like twilight but better" like everyone else but I'm not. One because i actually liked Twilight. Two I feel like everyone has the right to tell there story. and thou we can tell a similar story and compare the two, no two stories are alike.
When I first started on this series, I was looking for something to cure Borden. I loved the name Alice and saw it in reviews that everyone hated it. So i pulled out my i pod touch got on ibooks and got the story.... S...more

What do you get when you pair absolutely atrocious writing, self-editing and stolen plot lines? This book. I wanted to like it...I really did but when someone takes so much story-line from other writers and then throws in redundancy, poor grammar and spelling I can't take it. I'm honestly shocked I finished this book. Its like a bad fan-fiction version of The Vampire Diaries and Twilight. The similarities are astounding so I doubt its just a "vampire thing" or just a coincidence. Similarities be...more

So at first, upon seeing the title,I thought it would be unique and interesting story with a very good plot and all. Unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. For starters, the girl in this story is quite annoying. A bit of problem becomes big when it comes to her. She have a family issue in which she makes a big deal out of it which leads her to Jack, the vampire in this story. And from there, he was dragged and his family into her annoying world. They caught up with her problems and even...more

I love this book to the bones. I love the characters! At first I was kinda rooting for Jack now I was kinda rooting for Peter but I think Jack is better but I wanna get Peter. so it's kinda complicated.

So Alice hangs out with her so called friend Jane. Then they both get into trouble like being chased by group of drunk-perverted guys and being insulted and stuff but Jack came to the rescue. From that incident, Alice and Jack became close to each other they love the same things like same band an...more

I kept seeing this series on my audible "recommended" page, so I took a stab at it. I had already read Switched a while ago, also from Amanda Hocking, and enjoyed it, so figured this one should be good. I have to admit, I love a series.

I just finished listening to this, and my heart is still pounding from it. At first I thought it was too much like the book "T" and even rolled my eyes a few times, but once I got into it,my feelings changed. I am still not sure if I would put it as one of my fav...more
