The Chosen is a classic fantasy novel but without the epic length. Included are long journeys, prophesies, royalty, magic, oracles, wars at stake, forbidden love, runaway elopements, long lost princes, lengthy quests, true love, and a happy ending. Because the story stays pretty true to the fantasy origins, there is not originality offered but for those fans of the genre, the familiar themes are always welcome. The writing makes the story incredibly easy and fast to read so that kept my interest...more

2.5 stars, but I'll give it 3 because it is likable as a simple romace to read before going to bed.
Why I don't give it more:
- the main characters are completely bland (very clasical seme/uke with very little more to them)
- the magic system is inconsistent in my opinion (for instace they insist that to do magic an exchange of energy is required, but then the wizard and the aprentice do all sorts of magic and never mention a price to be payed)
- the uke was sick for a rather long time but the cause...more
