absolutely wonderful. a childhood favorite that I just reread.

Another childhood favorite
My mother had this book as a child, so growing up we read this over and over. The stories are charming and very different from other fairy tales. Garth Williams did the illustrations and they are fabulous. He is well-known for his work on the Little House on the Prairie books. This book was reprinted first in 1997 and then again recently. The colors aren't as deep and bright as the original book, but are still beautiful.
Why, oh why, do books like this go out of print????
