Five days before her wedding to a man she admires but doesn’t love, Katrina Spencer escapes to a private island. Then she lazily opens her eyes, only to see Brock Denton… muscular, half-naked, the one who got away – the one who makes her body tingle with arousal.

HOLY HOT SMOKING SEX! So much of it too!

Five days before Kats wedding, she takes off to her families private island to get away one last time before her wedding to a man that she likes but doesn't love. She figures this is her last chance to relax and unwind by herself before marrying into a loveless marriage. What she didn't expect was to find her old crush, Brock, on the same beach.

Kat hasn't seen Brock in years until he washes up on the shore-literally. Brock is in danger and clearly needs h...more
Romancing the Book
Kat loved Brock when she was a teenager and he broke her heart... not once, but twice. So ten years later on the eve of Kat's wedding when he wades in from the sea onto a beach occupied only by Kat, she's going to need to keep her senses to keep from being swept away by Brock.

HOT,HOT,HOT........still fanning myself from this one.
Katrina has known Brock for a long time. She met him in high school and he was a bad boy who Katrina just had to get some of. So on a special night, Katrina decides to go an offer herself to him for her very first time. When he denies her, respectfully so, she is completely devestated and wastes her first time on someone else.
Jump to the present. Katrina is engaged to be married and she decides to take a little vacation away by herself before...more

So the plot of this particular story is pretty far fetched, but then again, that's the main reason why I liked it as much as I did. It was a hot far fetched story. Girl wants hot guy at 18 years old. Hot guy, for reasons we find out later in the book, denies girl. Flash forward 10 years. Girl is set to marry a prim and proper lawyer. Having severe cold feet, girl fakes going to Vegas for bachelorette party and goes to her family's private island in the Keys for some R&R. In the m...more

Read this book on vacation on while at the beach. Perfect read to get all hot and steamy...this story is about Kat Spencer about to marry and her goes away to her family's island to think about the up and coming changes in her life.

While there are some flashbacks to when she was younger and in high school and she having the hots for Brock (hot, older guy who worked at her dad's gallery). You know trouble is a brewing with all the tension between these two.

Low and behold, Brock shows up to the...more

Enjoyable read. Good contemporary romance. I liked it.

Kat loved Brock as a teen, but Brock mysteriously left town. Ten years later, Kat is on a private island for a five-day contemplative vacation. She is engaged to someone she doesn't love. She sees Brock (for the first time in ten years) as he swims to the island from the ocean. I enjoyed this, but I wish Kat didn't avoid Brock so much for the first two days on the island. I also wish Brock would have told her details about his past and curren...more

This book caught my eye because some of the reviews it's received talked about how hot and steamy it is and about how romantic and passionate is is. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't feel it and I certainly disagree with the hot & steamy comments. This one just didn't do it for me. It felt really drawn out at times and at other times it felt very rushed. After Kat left Ian standing at the alter, there wasn't even any confrontation .... The book doesn't even mention that they spoke after that....more

Im glad I read this authors other book before this one, because if I had done this book first I would have not bothered to read any others.
I think this shelf Im putting it on just about says it all. I found the characters very inmature, the coincidences in the story were way over the top and a little far-fetched.The relationship between these two really didnt develop into anything, and nothing I hate worse is when an author over-uses a word..I was ready many times to toss this one if Bro...more

I did like this book, honestly truly I really did – but if I hear the endearment ‘Kitten’ one more effen time!!!!!!! Ugh! See I’m not someone who has a fondness for Kitty Cats – of any variety. So you’ll have to understand that when I hear the endearment ‘kitten’- yes I just spat that word – this is what I envision -

Now that’s more like it!

Okay, so where was I ? Oh that’s right I was about to tell you all about a story that I thought I would love, but didn’t.

No seriously, I read alot of Toni B...more

This was an "okay" read for me. I read it in the heat of July and I must say that this one is a perfect beach read. It's set on a deserted island and features a stranded couple (pure fantasy land here!).

Brock and Katrina (whom he calls "kitten" ad nauseum), have a past. He worked for her father and she has ALWAYS been attracted to him. Her father never approved of the infatuation and did everything he could to keep these two apart. Fast forward 10 years and Kat's engaged to another man that her...more

A 4.5 rating for me. Nonetheless, another great CR from Blake. This book reminded me of Tempt Me Tonight with a different twist.

Kat has always been infatuated with Brock, an assistant for her father's art gallery that has always made Kat's inside hot. However, Brock is from the wrong side of the tracks, whereas, Kat has lived the luxurious life her family has provided her with. All Kat wants for her graduation and her birthday is to lose her virginity to Brock, but when fate turns these two away...more

My first disappointing Toni Blake. This book just never took off. As an audiobook, the reader had good voice intonation (girls and guys were effected appropriately), but the acting was abominable! Very cardboard and emotions were ingenuous sounding.

Regardless, the whole storyline pretty much just fell flat. In the opening paragraphs, the local rich-girl heroine is a young teenager just graduating high school, and decides to bestow her virginity on the local poor/bad boy (our hero), by seeking h...more

I am surprised that I like this book as much as I do.

It’s cheesy as to be expected, a romance novel pre-requisite along with the predictability, unrealistic events and that whole "we hate each other" thing but none of it was so bad that I stopped reading or didn't end up kind of liking it.

It follows the formula you've come to expect from this genre yet I didn’t hate the characters and was able to follow along with out being bored.

Very good romance -silly action plot- until the last fourth, where the sexy, seducer hero becomes an indecisive, whiny character suddenly burden with doubts -which I really disliked.
HERO is a Warrior, an undercover agent that by chance meets the heroine again after 10 years, when she's about to get married.
SCENES/CONTENT: several/steamy
GENRE/TONE: contemporary/light
LENGHT: 380 pages

I thought Swept Away was a great read. It contained all of the qualities that makes the reader want more: the love story, the thrilling action, the steamy intimacy, etc.
I found myself constantly wanting to read; simply, I just could not put this Toni Blake novel down!
I got "Swept Away" in the novel myself. It is one of my favorite reads to date.

This took me a while to finish. I read through the first 1/2 very quickly but then stalled on it; for a number of reasons. Brock's continual use of 'kitten' - it got very tedious very quickly; and there was a lot of introspective thinking by both of the main characters which just kept going on & on. I know the author was trying to show how their relationship & thinking developed but still it felt a bit too much.

I'm glad that I read it and finished it but I'm not quite sure whether I'll...more

The premise was interesting, but I did think that some of the coincidences were a little over the top. The author did a good job tying all the elements together, but I did find some of it unbelievable. I thought the characters were okay; they didn't really intrigue me very much.
Dominique
Overall Swept Away was a good read. There was smokin hot chemistry between Brock and Kat. I liked the storyline. However, the smuggler interaction was not believable at times…a little too Tom and Jerry versus scary, ruthless and deadly. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed it.

I am glad that this wasn't the first book that I read from this author, I don't know that I would have read any more. The whole book was so predictable, from the characters and their actions to the storyline itself. Overall it wasn't bad, fairly forgettable.

It's weird, I liked everything about this book a lot... Other than the basic plot premise. I mean, come on. But, once I got into the book, I was better able to suspend disbelief and enjoy it. Probably wouldn't read again, though.

Love Toni Blake's books! She gives great storylines, fleshed out characters, & hot sex......they're realistic w/o being raunchy just like a true relationship! I do not want glossed over lovin.... Stick with Toni if u want real!!!!

I enjoyed the book but it got a little boring in the middle of the book. The beginning and the end were good but the middle was stretched out too long. This was the first book I have read by this author but it won't be my last.

Another nice read by Toni Blake with a delicious bad-boy turned crime-fighter...Brock! Brock, Brock, Brock, my how I love Brock!! Fun story with a bit of suspense and a great island setting. Smokin' hot passionate sex, lots of dialogue and it all flowed nicely up until the end. Considering the circumstances that were set up, I expected more of an exciting ending and it was very anti-climatic. Still very enjoyable and if you are a fan of Toni Blake you won't want to miss this one.

I didn't care much for this book, and don't really know why. Maybe it's the premise of having all this hot sex with an old bf a week before her wedding, or maybe it's the running around all over the island trying to escape the bad guys. I don't know. I love Toni Blake, but this is my least favorite of her books.

More like 31/2 stars. I liked it. Just the end kinda dragged...I'm never seeing him again, o wait here he is, o wait never gonna c him again...just get it over w/

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but I really enjoyed it. I love the relationship between Brock and Kat although I really wanted to hate Brock at first.

This one didn't excite me as much as I thought it would. Good enough story and I liked the main characters, but not most of the supportive characters. It would make for a great beach read though.

loved this book!!! awesome plot and characters though it was easy to figure out who was the Omega and what was in that closet....loved the ending!

I wanted more from this book. I expected more. It was still a pretty good read but there was some kinks in the plot that needed to be ironed out.

Toni Blake's love of writing began when she won an essay contest in the fifth grade. Soon after, she penned her first novel, nineteen notebook-pages long, and announced to her mother over breakfast one day that she was going to be a writer when she grew up. Since then, Toni has become the author of more than a dozen contemporary romance novels. Her work has been excerpted in Cosmo, she's been a re...more
