The reason that I bought this book was because of the Nalini Singh book as I am obsessed with the Psy-Changeling series. Naturally, I read that story first, but I couldn't not read the rest of the book. So I started at the beginning, reading it straight through (Of course I read Singh's story again!) and I'm glad I bought it because I liked all the stories.

And then

and I fucking loved it.

“What about your freedom?" he whispered in her ear over a minute later [...]
"Idiot." She nipped his jaw with her teeth. "The only freedom I ever wanted was the right to love you.”

I enjoyed Melting Frosty by Maggie Shayne! Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh was good of course but it had a little more drama than I expected.

This review/rating is only for Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh.

I’ll be honest. I didn’t think much about Nate and Tamsyn. They were just always there. Both are an integral part of the Pack, but they were always on the peripheral. Tammy is the healer and Nate is a sentinel, but Beat of Temptation gives us the chance to read their story.

Wow. I absolutely loved their story to bits! Tammy is just 19 years old while Nate is 29. The large age different plays a part in their relationship because N...more

**only reading Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh**

After reading Slave to Sensation, I found out there was Nate and Tamsyn's story thanks to my great friend, Leigh. {Thanks Leigh...u ROCK!!} I'm so glad she told me. I loved their story. I don't think you can really appreciate them without reading this story.

The story is basically about Nate and Tamsyn wanting to complete their mating bond. Nate is torn because he feels Tamsyn is young and needs her freedom and he wants to give her time. Tamsyn...more
Decided to only read the one story by Nalini Singh. Didn't attempt the others.

The story by Nalini Singh is part of her Psy Changeling series and stars Tamsyn and Nate. This is the story of their relationship and mating. I loved it. It was so emotional. Tamsyn just broke my heart with her believing that Nate didn't want her. And Nate being the idiot man he is, thought he was giving her the space she needed before bonding with her - when he finally wised up it really made the HEA te...more
for Nailini Singh`s story

Absolutely loved Nate`s and Tamsyn story... I loved them so much in Slave to Sensation that it was so thoughtful of NS to give us a reprieve with this couple`s history.

Nate has his insecurities, was insufferable at times.. but Who can resist him??? and his reasons?? His thoughtfulness and utter devotion towards tammy was so sweet!!

Great story!! :)

Okay, this one I liked the first 2 stories. The Singh story was okay but the hero drove me bananas. The last story by Johnson was sappy sweet but a cute story.
Reread (Jun 14, 2014)

Gah, it just makes so happy, teary and swoony when I think about how Tammy and Nate have been mated for over 20 years, they have family and they still love each other so much, maybe even more after being together for so many years. I adore these two and the fact we had an opportunity to read their story.

Originally read (Apr 17, 2012)

Well, I'm basically in love with Nalini Singh's writing. Her heroes are just so... unf. I find myself actually liking her heroines as well.

I have had quite a few of the Psy-Changeling books for a long time now but they have never seemed to reach the top of the pile. I had read some of NS's Harlequin books in the past and although I enjoyed them they never really wowed me and I honestly thought that she would struggle writing in the PNR genre and they wouldn't live up to expectations. Anyway, I had been seeing a lot of activity on them in the last month or so which reminded me that they had been sitting there gathering d...more
This is a collection of 4 paranormal, holiday stories by authors Maggie Shayne, Erin McCarthy, Nalini Singh, and Jean Johnson. All 4 are authors I've read and enjoyed, so I'm very much looking forward to reading it. I will post a review for each story individually, as I go.

"Melting Frosty" by Maggie Shayne

I thought two of the stories in here were great I loved them, but the other two not so much. But I think likeing 50% is pretty good so I definately don't regret buying this anthology

Beat of Temptation (Psy/Changeling, 0.5): Nate and Tamsyn's story.

There are few authors that I feel like can write a good, satisfying, complete short story or novella. Nalini Singh is one of those. I always finish her books, novellas, snippets wanting more but that's simply because I can't get enough of the wonderful world, characters and plot she writes. I'm smiling, (or crying), and completely spellbound while I'm reading.

I loved Tammy, and Nate, from the first moment I saw them in Slave to Se...more
"Melting Frosty" by Maggie Shayne. 4 stars. VERY GOOD!! A real tear-jerker! Holly and Mathew. She is an upholder of Christmas cheer and he is a Scrooge. (Read 12/07)

"Charlotte's Webb" by Erin McCarthy. 3 1/2 stars. 1st story in Murphy Sisters series. A solidly good story, almost a little too sugary-sweet for me. Charlotte and Will are long-time best friends, but have been secretly attracted to each other for years. Charlotte finds out that she is a witch during the Christmas season and decides t...more

Only read Nalini Singh's "Beat of Temptation."
Thought it was amazing. Caught me by surprise how emotionally involved I became. I cried and I haven't done that in a while. I thought Tamsin was just about the perfect heroine, trying everything to get her mate to be with her, it was heart-breaking and heart-lifting at the same time. Nate, our stubborn hero, wore on my nerves, but in a good and frustrating way (if that's possible).
So very happy that I read this one, I think I liked it bett...more
Only read Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh....

4.5 stars. Loved this short story about Nate and Tamsyn getting together. It was great to get a more in-depth look into their characters. They are both just great, and I had to laugh at how hard-headed Nate was. Glad that Tamsyn did what she needed to do get get Nate to wake up to what she needed. :)

The only thing preventing me from giving it 5 stars was the lack of loving. :( Of course, it was implied, but with all the sexual tension, frustration,...more
After reading Kiss of Snow Ive been having a hard time leaving the changeling world so I finally read Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh. The sweet, although chock-full of frustration, the story of Tamsyn and Nate. I've always loved Tamsyn's character and loved the story of how she landed Nate ;) it was a great quick read that fulfilled my need for more changeling lovin!

Enjoyed the stories by McCarthy and Singh the best. Shayne was not her best effort and the Johnson story was totally off from her usual style and subject matter...
The holidays are a time of magic and good cheer. So what better time for four tales of romance influenced by paranormal means? I have yet to read any of the four authors outside of anthologies so this was certainly a good sampler for me. As a lover of holiday tales this appealed to me when it first hit shelves but I waited and found a used copy on Ebay which I don't think the previous owner realized was not only in mint condition but signed by Shayne. I wanted to read it then (spring) but held o...more
I read three out of the four short stories in 'An Enchanted Season'.

I purchased the book mainly for Nalini Singh's, 'Beast of Temptation'. I love her Changeling-Psy series and didn't want to miss out on this one. Short story is not my favorite writing style but I enjoyed getting the back story of Tamsyn and Nate who are important secondary characters in the Changeling-Psy series. Tamysn has to overcome Nate's reluctance to make her his mate (he thinks he's doing the right thing since she is muc...more
I purchased this only to read the Psy-Changeling story, Beat of Temptation, which I would give 4 stars. It was a lovely story. I absolutely love Tamsyn and Nate, so it was nice to see how they got together. I really felt for Tamsyn, and I was definitely teary-eyed for most of the story. Only thing I didn't get was the story line involving your standard Psy bad guy, Solias King. It didn't seem necessary at all, and really nothing happened with it; it was very anti-climatic. I thought something bi...more

This review is for Nalini Singh's Beat of Temptation.

I've always liked Nate and especially Tamsyn so I was very happy to see they have this little short story dedicated to them. I got to learn a lot more about them individually and also how they got together.

So for a lot of the story I just wanted to slap Nate upside the head. He was being such an idiot. It was sad to see Tamsyn so hurt and heartbroken.

I only review the short story written by Nalini Singh

That said, awwww. That was such a cute story. I always wanted to know more about Nate and Tamsyn so it was great to read "their" story, how they fell in love and mate and all. Although honestly, I wanted to slap Nate several times. Seriously, how stupid can one man/leopard be? Gosh!

But Tamsyn was awesome. Like always. She just kicked ass. And her humour....LOL The banter with Nate was just beyond funny sometimes. She getting on his last nerves...more

I picked this up cause I'm starting the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh and I wanted to read her little story that goes with the series. IT WAS GREAT! Tamsyn broke my heart and I even shed some tears.

Naturally, I had to read the rest of the stories in here heehee I had never read anything by any of the authors. The Maggie Shayne story was very sweet. Erin McCarthy's story was hot! I'm going to be looking for her stuff in the new year. Jean Johnson's story was about refinding love....wonder...more

I just read this for the Nalini Singh Psy-changeling story (Tamsyn and Nate). What a great backstory! The "big misunderstanding" went a little bit too far, but I still loved it - Nate's possessiveness was strong but gentle, and Tamsyn was just the right amount of sweet and spicy. I believed their mating bond, 100%. Good addition to the series.

The Enchanted Season contains 4 stories by favorite authors. I especially liked Beat of Temptation by Nalini Singh, a short story set in the Psy-Changeling world. A prequel to the books in the series you don't want to miss the story of Nate and Tamsyn's mating.

“What about your freedom?" he whispered in her ear over a minute later, bracing his hands palms down on the wall beside her head. He made no move to stop her as she stroked and petted every inch of that sinfully gorgeous chest, all hard muscle and gleaming skin overlaid with silky-rough strands of dark hair.

"Idiot." She nipped his jaw with her teeth. "The only freedom I ever wanted was the right to love you.”
“No, Nathan, no." She wrapped his face in her hands. "I just need you--all of you--so much that I'm going crazy. I need your laugh. I need your company. I need you to sleep beside me and I need you to wake when I wake. I need you with everything in me.” 13 likes
