Nothing groundbreaking here, but three simple stories about friends sharing a good time will resonate with kids who are that age, and who have recently begun reading on their own. The author allows them to have fun without doing anything too dangerous or destructive, whether going to the movies or pretending to be spies.

The book is broken into three distinct chapters. It's a good beginning reader book because the chapters are three distinct stories, but are centered around Zelda and Ivy, who are sisters. I liked the story lines and the illustrations are nice. This would be a good book for a big sister to read to a little sister.
