Given to Jacob for his 4th or 5th birthday by Faith and Grace.
Read again for CC1 wk 5 study of invertebrates.
When five-year-old Oliver was given this book he expressed revulsion. It seems he had picked up on his mother's fear of all creepy-crawly things. I believe that knowledge can help to break down unreasonable fears and it is better to start in childhood before they have set in. I read the book to him and he found the illustrations engaging and asked many questions. I like this book because you have to find the spiders in some leafs.
I also liked this book because I learned that some spiders can run/walk on water.
Another thing I learned was desert spider have little hairs on them so there pretors would not see the spider in the sand.
I also learned that spiders can live in cracks on your house.
This book is good because I could learn a lot
about spiders.I learned some spiders walk on
Water. Some are spiky.
