The simple, repetitive text is good for a child who is learning to read but the storyline is hard to follow. You definetly need to look carefully at the illustrations to understand what is going on....I read through it three times and still couldnt figure out how or why the boy ended up bundling up and going outside.....I suspected that his cat got out and he had to go and find him...but that is not right. The boy just randomly goes from stripping out of his dirty clothes to putting on a coat More...

The kitten got high up in the tree, and it couldn't get down. Firemen got it down, then the cat went to the doctor. And then it felt much better.

The rhyming and rhythm in this book were great fun to read aloud.
