Così, senza saperlo e per sua iniziativa, Psiche fu presa da amore per Amore.
E' quasi impossibile recensire o anche solo dare un voto a questa storia, perché, in fin dei conti, essa non è altro che una favola: che giudizio esprimereste sulla vostra favola o fiaba preferita? Avreste il coraggio di darle un voto?
Ed è per questo che io, ad Amore e Psiche, do un voto mediamente alto. Perché è senza tempo, breve e incisiva, forse noiosa, ma è pur sempre una favola, e se ne resta affascinati More...

I had no idea novels existed at this length until I read this book. The great leveller illustrates just how little changes among people across time and culture. Who would have thought finding a rose could be so hard? No 'donkey' ever had it so good.

The book reiterates how Greco-Roman gods can be so childish and immoral but the gist of the book was the resilience of Psyche and also that of Cupid.

Uno tra i più piacevoli miti tramandatoci da apuleio, narra la storia della bellissima Psiche, ragazza maledetta da una bellezza divina che tutti ammiravano ma che non spingeva nessuno a chiederla in sposa. Un giorno Afrodite, spinta da invidia, chiese aiuto al suo bel figlio Amore per renderle la vita un po' più difficile di così... Ma l'amore vince sempre, alla fine, così ci insegnano. Sarà poi vero?

Fall of 1991, my Latin II class translated Cupid and Psyche from Latin to English. I think this version is the one similar to Bulfinch's Mythology with three tasks for psyche to complete (the seeds, the fleece and the box of beauty).

shows the whole story behind Cupid and Psyche's love affairs but not entirely in full detail. the Golden Ass part was also unnecessary. It would have worked if they showed the relation of the story to the story of Cupid and Psyche.

una bellissima storia d'amore mitologico estrapolata da "L'asino d'oro", in una veste grafica che ne fa un oggetto prezioso; qualche coppia di anobiani potrebbe adottarla come bomboniera in alternativa ai soliti orrori..

Beautiful story. Clearly serves as one of many influences for all of our favorite "princess" fairytales -- but surpasses each in meaning. The reader itself is well formatted and easy to use. It was a joy to read.
